Have to give Sean Dyche significant praise - his Burnley side have both CBS injured & other than for their goalkeeper (Pope) it could be argued that on a player v player comparison we arguably have better ones in most positions to our starting XI yesterday. Yet matching Leicester tonight & finished well last season & always competitive.

You seem to have jinxed it.

Can't disagree with you there  :005:
Still when you look at the players at his disposal, and very little paid out on transfers, they certainly punch above their weight!

They do like to dish it out

Great finish from Burnley last season, a big surprise as they struggled early on in the season.

Burnley are a great example of building on what they do best.

They are incredibly disciplined and coached extremely well. Dyche has complete control over who comes through the door. He also does his research on personality types upon signing a player. On a podcast interview (forgot the name) he talks about calling their former academy coaches, and all sorts. Just to make sure they are the right fit for the squad.

That's why if you compared them as individuals against most squads they would come out weaker - but they are so well drilled as a team, vocal and have the right balance of leadership and stick to their strengths.

It's why they have become such a great side in the Prem.

We could learn a lot from that.

Whilst Burnley's defence was a bit suspect last night at times you have to give Dyche massive credit.

They have a team that has basically zero creativity or flair and yet he still manages to get results. Their team is absolutely shocking on paper for the most part and has zero investment every season.

I think one of the things to learn is to not chop and change our manager all the time.
It makes such a difference when a manager has a squad that he wants, players for specific positions that he wants and time to drill and coach them how you want to play.
I hope that we've learnt that at the very least.

I have Burnley down as a relegation potential this season as they just never invest in that squad and Dyche must be running low on squad good enough to keep them there.
