played both at state representative level.

rugby league is faster, more skillful, more intense and WAY more brutal.

Union is more thinking, more patience. You can be tackled an unlimited amount of times in union, but in league, you only have 6 chances to score.

I prefer league, was playing for a feeder for the Newcastle Knights until i dodged my knee a year or two ago (which i redid playing indoor soccer last week)

Also played rugby for Brothers in Brisbane for a bit of cash, those were the days, I was on ABC a few times on Queensland TV

As I was born and bred in St Helens,I'm a massive fan of St Helens Rugby League Football Club,it's not like I had much choice in the matter!
I played league and union I was much better playing prop in rugby union than in league and I played union for Lancashire school boys -much better to play than watch, watching union sends me to sleep. But watching League is fantastic, pace power and violence all in one game!
Dont let Finnster know you're a Mickey Mouse  :015: . Silly egg chasing sport.

The only Rugby team I ever cared about is no more, the Vallentuna Cats.

In Sweden Rugby didn't used to be a recognized sport when I went to college, but we still wanted to form a school team. Problem was that we couldn't get any funding from the school board as the sport wasn't approved on the curriculum and we were told to find sponsors on our own, and so we did.

For our first game most of the student body were present and funnily enough most of the teachers and school board too. The look of their faces when we ran out on to the field wearing our brand new sponsored kits with our new fancy logo for the Vallentuna Cats. The sponsor was a magazine called Cats and it is (in)famous for a content of quite hardcore prawn.  :52:

The next day me and a few others were summoned to the principals office and in some strange way the school board had come up with funding for our little team as long as we broke off the sponsor deal. This we agreed to. Little did they know that the only funding the prawn mag gave us was to pay for the kits, the package we got from the school board by far exceeded that  :yay:

A Mickey Mouse? :tom:
At least he isn't from the borough of Liverpool and he is a good lad. No picking on the Rambler. One of the better chaps from ooooop north. But St Helens? That is a bit like living right on the border between Mexico and USA.

Can't believe how mant people follow Harlequins. You do realise they're the Ch*ls** of Rugby Union!

I keep an eye out for Wasps results, and enjoy the internationals, but don't really follow it as closely as I might.

Used to play Union with the team at work but it got too hard to get 15 out often enough. I enjoy watching it a lot more since I played it. Prefer Union though in recent years that seems to have regressed (in the Northern hemisphere at least) to a dull kicking game again. League has its plus points but is less cerebral.
