Games for the Week-end 15/10

Back to the Cottage for a 3 o’clock kick off, this time we welcome Bournemouth

Fulham v Bournemouth

I’m sure that nearly every football fan is certain that VAR goes against their team week in week out, but sometimes you do have to wonder why it happens with seemingly obvious hand to ball, offside, blatant diving etc. you have to ask yourself if the decision was given “for you” would you be happy? I don’t believe that they even out over the season, I do believe that these decisions can be the difference between survival and relegation.

Still no definitive news on Mitro’s injury, let’s hope that no news is good news? having Wilson back is really good news I can’t wait to see the interplay between him, Pereira and Mitro, should be exciting stuff!

Our record against Bournemouth is slightly in Bournemouth’s favour with only 1 win, 3 losses and 2 draws.

I’m assuming that Mitro, Robinson and Tete are fit, so my team would be…

Games for the weekend 3/12

Is this the biggest game of the season so far? we welcome Bournemouth for a Friday evening game to the Cottage.

Fulham v Bournemouth

So a top of the table clash against a former manger who alienated some (most?) of the current squad, should be a good game.
Surprisingly since we leap-frogged Bournemouth to go top, both teams could only manage draws, the Baggies have also had a bit of a dip with QPR overtaking them in 3rd place.
Currently we’re still a point above Bournemouth however with a goal difference of +33 to their +20 a win on Friday would see us 4 points and (at least) 15 goals ahead of them.
Whilst it’s far too early in the season to say that this is “the” Championship decider, a victory would give a real boost to either team.

If it wasn’t for the illness effecting the Fulham squad, unconfirmed rumours are that its norovirus which, while unpleasant and highly contagious, usually only lasts a couple of days, there might a slight concern about our drop in form.
Bournemouth have recently suffered a couple of losses, after a long unbeaten run, and the last 2 games had 2 draws. In the last game against Coventry they were 2-0 up in the 85 minute only to finish 2-2 with the equalised coming on 90+5, Lerma’s sending off probably had a big part in that result? I think most of us can remember Scott Parker’s tactic of “holding on” once you’ve gone ahead, I’m guessing it backfired yet again?

One player who I’m certain will be “up for it” this game will be Mitro’, we’ve no idea of what happened between him and Parker last season but I think Mitro’ will want to show his former gaffer how much of a mistake Parker made?

Our record against Bournemouth isn’t very good with 3 losses and 1 win however I think Mitro and one or two other players may have a point to prove?

my team against Bournemouth, assuming all fit, would be…

Team against Bournemouth 27/10

over on the forum we’ve been discussing what team we would pick to try and stop leaking so many goals.

here are a couple of examples…

whitejc

Fulham v Bournemouth

Subs: Betts, MLM, KMac, Odoi, Christie, AK47, Vietto

the back 4 is all dependant on who is fit.

Rico needs to be given his chance, Betts I’m sure will eventually regain his first place however, stating the bleedin’ obvious, we need to stop shipping goals and whilst I don’t think Betts was responsible for any(?) but we really need to try something/someone different.

Games for the Weekend 27/10

This weekend we welcome Bournemouth to Craven Cottage

Fulham v Bournemouth

After a run of terrible defensive displays, hopefully Slaviša will have worked on something to stem the flow of goals against? Timothy Fosu-Mensah could be back, assuming his shoulder is better, we really need a stable, functioning back four.

We also need Tom back in midfield, KMac and SetfJo were great for us last season but I feel they’re not quite Premiership standard, certainly not 90 minutes worth anyway.

Bournemouth are comfortably in the top half of the table and must be relishing the chance to get a hat-full of goals, we really need to give them a surprise and get our season back on track COYW.
