Bassey's distribution isn't great, but he has no midfield offering. Cote D'Ivoire really should take it from here. Seri and Kessie running the game.

Nigeria has been very poor throughout. Iwobi and Onyeka can't compete with Seri, Fofana and Kessie. They need another man there insteas of one of the centrebacks. They are also playing way too defensively imo.

Why didn't the ref let Nigeria play one more attack. There was a sub for Ivory Coast in the extra time and they wasted some time with the goal kick.

Congrats to Cote d'Ivoire, deserved winners on the day. Nigeria never got going and CIV never let them.

Personally think Nigeria have over achieved getting to this final.
Their performance tonight just showed that. They were truly awful imo.

Happy for Seri at least. Seems like a top guy and he's spoken very positively about Fulham since leaving as well. He was incredible for us in that season we won the Championship.

Seri had acres of space tonight and was therefore predictably in control. Nigeria lost the battle of midfield both tactically and in terms of energy. Iwobi looked shattered. Bassey looked like he'd have preferred a back 4 and a higher line.

No party, no parade in Lagos, no apparent injuries.

A disappointing and dull game. Sorry for Iwobi and Bassey but the best team won.

The quality level across the whole tournament has not been very good. Africa has some fantastic individual players, but the national teams are bang average. Perhaps its a byproduct of it being mid-season, or just that the talent pool is quite shallow (far too many players that play outside the top leagues).
