This game was there for the taking.  I blame Andersen, and I feel he has been a liability for some time now.

Who was your FoF MOTM and why?

Voted Andersen for finally disabusing us of the notion that we deserve Europe.

Changes needed in summer.

Anderson threw our chance at Europe. Wilson has been absolutely invisible since his hot run. Let him walk.

Silva probably not resigning.

Bye bye Wilson & Marco, was fun while it lasted but time for a clean slate. If someone is mental enough to buy Andersen we should probably take the money and run

So so predictable That run over Christmas has saved us this season.
Papered over a lot of cracks,And once Wilson lost his stardust  we have been awful.
Miles off Brentford ,Brighton and Bournemouth when it comes to recruitment.
Big summer ahead

Only half joking but I feel like the club was instructed to not push for Europe. Between Marco's selection and tactics the past few games and Andersen's body language coming off I just don't get it.

I appreciate the fact that we're safe and we'll have another year in the Premier, but how about a little ambition going into the tail end of the season?

Well if there's any doubt now, the suitcases were packed weeks ago and they're all off to the beach.

Andersen is a disgrace... three match ban for him and hopefully this is the last time we see him in a Fulham shirt.

Wolves and Newcastle are now dead rubbers.

It's really ironic. Some of us (including me) wrongly wanted to get rid of Pereira because he was so rubbish at corners, thinking there must be someone in the squad who can do better. There was, in fact, no one better. And Pereira was a huge part in our attacking threat. I really wish we didn't sell him.

Just heading back home from the game and actually thought Chucy and Robinson had better games than they have had for a while. Timmy also done well.

But why do we never want to shoot. The fact that Bournemouths goal was from a deflected shot should tell us something. Bobb went right across the penalty area for what seemed like ages before he finally had a shot.

The lack of goals is not good, we have to move the ball quicker and play with some purpose. Very disappointing.

I didn't like the booing at the end but get the frustration.

Didn't vote.

Frankly, there have been too many performances like today.

Although this style has won us a few games this season there's a dangerous lack of energy and adventure in our play.

I've seen us relegated too many times when we are not rubbish but can't create good chances and take them and lack leadership.

IMO next season we could be in trouble if there's not a big change.

I thought Chukwueze struggled on the left and his best moments came when he switched to the right. He's a good player, but I'm struggling to see why we should spend £24m on him. Wilson was hopeless and has been since the Villa rumour. Agree that Bobb and Kevin should start against Wolves.

Lukic and Cairney did a good job. Castagne. Robinson and Bassey were decent.

Muniz and Andersen were woeful. Probably would have been better taking Muniz off for Diop.

For us Castagne, who never gives up and recovered from a right kicking.  Bassey was good too.

But the real problem is that none of our players looked as good as Alex Scott, who is light years ahead of our engine room.

We need to recruit Bournemouth's transfer scouting team. They just keep replacing players sold for huge fees to the likes of Real Madrid (Huijsen), PSG (Zabarnyi), Liverpool (Kerkez), Man City (Seyenyo) with more quality like Rayan, Truffert, Kroupi etc now also in demand for big money. Now 16 games unbeaten and eyeing champions league. Smaller club than us with a tiny ground of 11k capacity. Very jealous.

I do think some of the comments here are being unfair to some of our players. We lost, but there were some stellar performances. Bassey was by far the best centreback in this game. He won all of his duels pretty much and he was also pretty effective going forward. He was miles better than e.g. Senesi who should have been sent off but the referee bottled it. Lukic was the best midfielder on the pitch. He was absolutely everywhere, had a good long distance attempt as well as some very intricate passing, and almost a great backheel assist for Bobb. Castagne had a very good game, I'd argue it was better than the Villa game, in which he got a lot of MOTM shouts. Robinson, poor crossing aside, was pretty much faultless. Kevin and Bobb provided bright sparks late on and were also pretty good.

I voted for Bassey who gave everything today and was unlucky to finish on the losing side. Bournemouth were much sharper than us in midfield and we desperately need to find a high intensity centre mid (like Alex Scott for them) in the summer. Kevin and Bobb both looked lively and promise much for next season.

While you may well be right, it's not all about scouting. Our signings are who Silva wanted - there's also a clear disconnect between Silva and Tony Khan in terms of squad development.

We've done very well with our signings since returning to the PL, but signing only established players is a high risk strategy as if you miss you have no resale value. This is the Andersen situation.

I thought we played well
Desperately  unlucky to hit the inside of the bar right at the end
Lost to a lucky deflected goal and idiocy by Andersen
Had more attempts and miles more touches in the opposition  box
Bournemouth play a  niggly Spanish style of fouls and breaking up play
Thought the ref was dreadful - ridiculous with one minute to go and we're desperately trying to get some momentum - he strolls over to their bench to book someone - shows total lack of understanding of the game

We had more possession, more shots, more xG, we hit the bar twice, Muniz was inches away from scoring too, on another day we win that, even with Andersen's stupid, unnecessary challenge. I do think that swung the momentum in their favour though.

This is a good point, I thought Bournemouth were a surprisingly dirty team. And when JKA was hauled down for no card where minutes earlier King had picked up a nonsense yellow, I think we all knew the ref was clueless.

Honestly, I wish Christie hadn't been sent off. The ref spent the rest of the game overcompensating, even after the Andersen red.

Their scouting isn't that much better than ours - and they don't sign many nobodies for peanuts, they regularly spend significant sums on players.

The but difference is they have a proper plan and strategy to recruitment, led by football people, rather than business people. They get deals done quickly (rather than spending months haggling over a couple of million), they do proper succession planning (both around players and coaches*), and look to offload players at their peak value trusting they will get replacements in.

If their people were running Fulham last Summer, Wilson, Castagne, Reed, Muniz and (probably) Robinson would have all been sold.

*if Silva goes, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't have a replacement in until most of pre-season is done.

The only positive from today was this post on X:

Bassey by a country mile.  Effort, energy, attitude, strength, skill. I can't understand those who voted for TC - protected the ball sure, but when a goal down and 25 mins to go is not the time to keep making meaningless 5 or 10 yard passes.

How does someone like Robinson, who had one of the best crossers as a teammate for years in Joe Bryan, become such a terrible crosser of the ball? I've said it before, he needs to just shoot low and aim for the keeper or far post. That would be more effective than his over-hit row z's.

Anyway, MOTM Cairney for me. Played from deep and orchestrated everything when we went down to 10 men. Should've struck some shots from distance, but still made an impact in our build-ups.

I go for Calvin Bassey, he set an example on how to keep your head when things go pear shaped.
He led by example and was instrumental in keeping the back Divisions balance, depth and shape.
My observations are that the team are hamstrung by the system of play Silva adopts, it's painful and the players do not buy into such a slow tempo, but then only a masochist would. So easy to play against, Marco appears to be a one trick pony.
To a certain extent Marco is also Hamstrung, by the owner who does not share the same ambitions.
He is a businessman not a football supporter, so has no empathy with the managers we have had, because as long as we can stay in the Premier League, even if it meant finishing 4th from bottom every year.
Of course he would be happier if we could stay in mid table as it would add more value.
But as far as Fulham's managers who have served under him are concerned he is completely on a different planet.
He is waiting for the right moment to sell the club, to get the best return. Silverware is not his priority, neither are the loyal Fulham supporters.
As long as he can get maximum financial return, he couldnt care less who supports the club as long as the customers money is coming through the turnstile.
The frustration of the current situation where we do not know who our manager is next season is due to his policy of not allowing the manager have more power as to running the football side of the club on a daily basis.
Silva has probably had enough of having his hands tied behind his back. So the club are getting the worst out of Silva. Is he waiting for an offer to come along that suits him, although the football he is serving up makes Parker ball look exciting.
So at the moment we currently have a manager who has run out of ideas, who has currently lost the appetite he once had and the drive that is needed due to his fractured relationship with the owners, and that is why I have some sympathy for him.
However unless any alternative is found to find a solution, I can only see it all ending in tears.
So one way or another neither Silva or the current owners will be around that much longer, or the tourists and fair weather punters, but the genuine loyal supporters will be.

Castagne is a classy full back who was brilliant at Leicester.

Fulham lucky to have this Belgium international. Versatile and a key player in any team.

He does what it says on the tin. Mr Consistent

Quote from: SerbianLad on May 09, 2026, 07:58:06 PMI do think some of the comments here are being unfair to some of our players.

I agree, we have some good PL players but the tactics and teamwork is failing them.

Shirley Bassey more like.

Agree entirely. Their scouting network is brilliant. Ours is awful
That's the difference between Professionals and Amatuers.
There is nothing to say that our scouting team are not finding players that is their job, but they don't decide who is or isn't signed, for all we know they may have recommended some really good players but the recruiting team didn't want them. I used to do a bit of scouting and put forward some good players that were not acted on, but I done my bit.

Not sure that the scouting network is at fault, we were linked with Semenyo, Cherki, Gyokores etc we just don't always follow it through.

Another thing I'd like to note is that I'm very disappointed with Wilson's recent performances. He's trying hard defensively, but he's completely ineffective in attack. In a few moments Chukwueze switched to the right yesterday, he looked great. Bobb also looked great when he came on the right. I'd honestly start Chukwueze/Bobb on the right and Kevin on the left in the next match.

Just another disappointing outing, especially at CC.  WHU, Everton, B'mouth all recent losses at home.  Frustrating and disappointing.  Couldn't really pick out a motm so no vote from me.  Thought Kevin looked lively in his cameo.  Also pleased with Bassey, seems to be the only one trying to push forward and show some aggression.  Not impressed with Bobb.  Unfortunate for King that he found the woodwork, although opponent found woodwork several times as well.  Leno poor on goal scored, thought he should have done much better.  Deserved outcome I thought, FFC really didn't deserve something out of this game.  Absolutely no offense/threat.  And why, oh why, when trailing in a game, is there so much sideways and backwards passing?  Seen this all season long.  Oft times plenty of green grass ahead of ball carriers, but not interested in moving forward.  Especially noticeable yesterday when 10 v 10.  Anyway, just an uninteresting effort from our lads.  Not sure if it's the players or the system they are asked to play.......

Quote from: Surlyc on May 09, 2026, 06:10:10 PMI thought Chukwueze struggled on the left and his best moments came when he switched to the right.

Agree with this.

Esp first half Cairney free to pull strings in midfield with Lukic beside him. Always looking to stretch the opposition, with an eye for the space.
Fullbacks much improved yesterday (heard they were both poor v Arsenal)
Bassey seemed to hold his own.

Big question is why going down to ten men hurt us more than them: maybe taking off ESR was not the right choice, as he was having a good game till then and getting stuck in?
We're waiting a long time for Muniz to 'click'. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. But yesterday his game seemed limited to flicking on headers...

In terms of the big question v, for me, I think Evanilson was having a quiet game (by his high standards) whereas we missed ESR badly.

I watched the match last night after listening to Gentleman Jim on Saturday and reading all the comments here. I nearly didn't watch it due to so many doom and gloom reports but was surprised and impressed by what I saw. Overall I think the team were brilliant in the first half and pretty good in the second, despite some seriously unbalanced refereeing. The loss of Jao via another debatable VAR decision was utterly demoralising and highly debatable. I accept that after the Bournemouth red, his robust tackle was perhaps unwise as he has acknowledged. However on several replays he clearly got the ball first with both feet. In my view the cynical diving, tumbling, drama queen antics of Truffert made it far too easy for VAR to play 'even stevens'. A yellow maybe, but I'm not even sure about that. Truffert was running after the ball and at Jao and could have and should have jumped over him as I have seen our guys like Bassey and Raul do on many a similar situations. Second half there were several unpunished, nasty fouls on our guys  including the bad foul on Tom Cairney that I think Lukic was trying to point out when he was unfairly carded. There was a very dangerous foul on Muniz towards the end that looked far worse and much more cynical than the tackle that got Jao sent off. In the second half the refereeing was unbalanced and yellow cards seemed reserved for our players who must have been infuriated. Many individuals were hobbled with yellow cards they didn't deserve, Antonee and Josh being good examples, whereas Bournemouth fouls were given a pass, encouraging them to kick harder and more often. Not sure what happened to the ref as he was quite balanced, fair and effective in the first half. Fulham persevered nevertheless with some lovely, flowing forward football orchestrated by TC but constantly interrupted by thuggish fouls and gamesmanship by Bournemouth who were the worst team throughout by a country mile. They did not deserve their win, indeed they should be ashamed of themselves. However I accept that the game is about goals and we didn't score any despite some great well crafted chances. Lady luck was definitely looking the other way with Leno so close to but missing a critical save, Muniz with his open goal failed header and the excellent Josh King effort. All three just a few inches between success and failure and we had many other well crafted chances. Personally I would have taken off Muniz and left Tom on as despite great grit we lost the middle when we lost Tom. The best team didn't win but many, including ESR, Tom, Lukic, Castagne, Bassey, Chukweze (the latter two were everywhere with Bassey surging forward to fight for the win at the end) should be proud. The subs of King, Kevin and Bobb contributed some great football and showed tremendous potential. In summary this match was not anything like the debacle I'd feared before seeing the game. In fact Fulham really dug in, worked together as a team and played quality football despite some very one sided refereeing. We should have and could have won and the guys deserve our support in the next two and beyond.

Cairney for me would've been lost in midfield without him and really missed Iwobi ball carrying skills.

Been reflecting on the game as was disappointed with the result but not necessarily the performance.

Some things I would say positively were Bassey, Lukic (few rough corners at the end of the game, and Jedi (his crossing mostly good but some poor ones). On the negative side was Muniz, Andersen and Chuk. Muniz had to do better with the header in the first half and aside form that did pretty much nothing other than get a yellow card, Andersen should have known better and was an unneeded reckless challenge, Chuk just didnt get into the game.

results sort of went our way a bit on Sunday but sadly would seem Euro chances are over for another season.

As for MOTM Bassey for me

I'm glad some people seem to be noticing the same as myself- that is that we were actually pretty good.

We were playing a team unbeaten since start of January, with a few key players missing (Iwobi, Sess and Raul would all start I'd assume, possibly Berge too).

The game was won by a goal that had an XG of just 0.02. Myself and others around me thought it was deflected or Leno would have saved it. That's the one position I'd seriously look at upgrading above all others. He's close to the bottom of save % in the league and bottom of expected goals prevented.

We just couldn't didn't take the 3 or 4 good chances we had. Bournemouth could struggle massively next season if they get Champs league.

The omens definitely aren't good for Bournemouth after a number of their fans travelled to Putney by river boat on Saturday. The last teams to do this, Norwich, Leicester & Derby all lived to regret it.

Interesting.....
FFC had 2 shots on target for the match, hardly brilliant/pretty good.  And one of those shots was from distance by Lukic, which was a very good shot and the type of shot I wish we would see more of from FFC.  But, we all have different views on these games, and I was totally non-plussed by the FFC show.  Not impressive at all.
