Title: Kieron Bowie
Post by: Ludlow Richard on May 17, 2026, 10:02:19 PM
Signed for Hellas Verona from Hibs (we sold him to Hibs) in January this year. He has featured 13 times for a team  always heading for relegation, scoring 4 times. His latest goal, beautifully taken by the way (suggest you check out the highlights), was away at Inter Milan, this season's champions, having previously scored against Juventus, Bologna and Torino.

Not suggesting we missed a trick by selling him, nor that we should be looking to get him back. But this is not a bad start to a career in Italy even though it is ending in relegation. More UK players should play abroad to broaden their footballing education. And it's likely he will be picked for Scotland's World Cup squad.

Totally agree with your point. I have always maintained that too few young English players take the opportunity to play and live abroad to develop their footballing skills/ brains and also themselves as individuals.

He scored an incredible goal for Hibs vs Partizan in the Conference League qualifiers at the start of the season.

That goal left me speechless.

It's nice to see that he's managed to create a career for himself. Another former Fulham youth player, Sylvester Jasper that I've already mentioned recently, is apparently close to joining one of the newly promoted Serie A teams next season, in a record breaking transfer for Zeleznicar Pancevo.

I think it's really nice to see players who take a step back in their career and manage to make the most of it.

I liked him, didn't think he got much of a chance at ours.
Holds the ball up well being big and strong,I'd rate him ahead of Muniz.

Part of the problem when he was with us a a young player was that he was in the shadow of Stansfield. That restricted any development opportunities.

Very true, and after watching both a few years ago, Bowie (at Northampton) was clearly physically more ready than stansfield and to my eye, playing better football.
