The Club can confirm that Marco Silva will leave his role as Head Coach at Fulham this summer.
It's a position that Silva has held for five years – which had made him the third longest serving boss in the Premier League, and fifth longest in the Football League – a spell which was laden with success.
In an open letter to the supporters, Silva said: "To our fans – I asked you, from day one, to always be with us. And that's what you did these past five years. We achieved a lot together.
"My staff and I always felt your support. It will never be forgotten. Fulham will always be in my heart, and sooner or later I will be back at Craven Cottage."

Shahid Khan added: "Marco Silva leaves our Club with my gratitude and best wishes. Fulham and Marco were an excellent fit for five seasons, but change is inevitable in this game, and we've accordingly prepared for this moment.
"The talent in our squad, our historic home ground of Craven Cottage, our faithful supporters, and my commitment to backing the Club, all make Fulham an extraordinarily attractive destination for an incoming head coach.
"We will soon appoint a new leader in a timely but deliberate manner, who will meet the standards of our Club and expectations of our fans throughout the world."
After leading us to a first league title in 21 years – a campaign which saw us score 110 goals, including three 7-0 victories – Silva helped the Club re-establish itself in the Premier League.

Having twice previously gone straight back down following promotion, Fulham comfortably secured a top half finish in 2022/23 – a campaign that provided fans with their first victory over Chelsea in 17 years.
Earning a reputation as a Head Coach who was excellent at getting the best out of players, Silva led the Whites to three further mid-table finishes in the subsequent seasons.
His time at the helm has also seen the Club break our record Premier League points tally when the team accrued 54 in 2025, while he also led us to four Quarter-Finals across both domestic cup competitions, including a first ever appearance in the Carabao Cup Semi-Finals.
A fiercely passionate and relentlessly hard-working individual, Silva's impact on the landscape of Fulham will not be forgotten, and he is welcome back at the Cottage as our guest anytime.

Ultimately he brought this club back to the top division and kept us there. Some brilliant memories...a shame that it kind of petered out the way it did, really hoping whoever comes next manages to build on his success.
He has undoubtedly been one of the highest achieving Fulham managers in our history given the way we won the championship, first years top 10 finish, competitive cup runs and of course record points tally in the premier league...will always be grateful for his time here and making Fulham a real competitor against the top sides.
Here's to the future though. Hopefully much a handful of other clubs our level we find a way to push on rather than fall back as one might fear.

Sounds like we've certainly held initially conversations and have an idea of who we want. Will presumably be a matter of finalising formal negotiations now he's confirmed to be moving on.

I don't know if there's still any player not on holiday right now but if there isn't and he takes his staff then there's no-one to do the coaching until we get a new manager.
Often a mistake to follow into a post someone who did really well in it, and although Jose did not win the league he took the club through the whole season without loss. If Benfica lose a couple early on ...
I suspect that, managerially, Marco has done what a couple of our young players did, reportedly against his advice. One couldn't get a regular place in Brentford's team, the other has spent the year kicking his heels at Villa.

Absolutely gutted but obviously expected.
Amazing memories. Absolutely tore the Championship apart scoring 6 and 7 in multiple games.
Beat every single club in the premier league bar Man City. Chelsea away will live long in the memory as will the Man Utd penalty shoot out cup win.

To be fair, in the two seasons before 25/26 it was nigh on impossible to get relegated considering 18th place only managed 25 and 26 points in those two seasons. If we somehow got relegated with those points, then it would've been an achievement.

I have enjoyed Marco's positive approach which has given us some fantastic moments. However, form has stuttered recently for whatever reasons, and without expensive reinforcements, which I'm not sure we could afford or attract, I could see the team's form going backwards. We are at a crossroads and if he is to lead us upwards then the new manager will need to be experienced, ambitious, and proactive in the transfer market. Most of all he will need the charisma to attract players of the necessary class. A tall order. 🤞

Personally im sad to see him go, but I do think all things comes to an end, even the good ones. So in excited for our next chapter.
Change is usually a good and necessary thing, even if its changing from something good. The market is packed with talented managers and I dont see why we couldnt get a good name in when teams like Bournemouth got Rose, CP got Glasner, Brighton got Hurzeler and so on.
If we play out cards right, know what we want in a manager and show the will and desire to get it, in sure we can land a really good manager and that cpild really elevated us to the next level.
Im positively sure that if Silva would have signed a new contract with us, somewhere down the line it would end up in us sacking him or some bigger clubs comes and get him mid season. Him leaving us this early in June is the best time for him to leave

Thanks for all the memories - a terrific promotion season where we scored 19 goals in 3 consecutive games (remember that !?) and he stabilised Fulham as an entertaining midtable team in the PL.
Don't forget along the way we've won a lot of West London derbies (v Chelsea for first time since Cookie Coleman) and our usual bugbears Brentford.

Sad to see him go. The best clubs seem to have managers who stay around for a long time but in Silva's case it had gone rather stale and it felt like he wanted out. His demeanour at press conferences seemed downbeat so I just wonder what he was like in the dressing room.
A question for those in the know. Is he staying on our books until the end of his contract at the end of June? Leaving "in the summer" suggests that he is......

Yes, I agree. Five years is a long time looking at his track record. Time for a new challenge, and one for the Khans - I have more faith in Marco, sadly...
It's true, with Silva we seemed to have found the answer to the question on how to survive the PL.
But as good as he's been we've stood still this season and he didn't have an answer when form disappeared and that's dangerous.
IMO we've reached a point where minor rebuilding and fresh ideas are a must even to stand still in mid table, let alone push on for a top 8 finish.
If we don't attempt to raise the bar and achieve a Euro spot we risk going backwards and I believe Silva would struggle to take us there.
Lets hope the owners truly have planned ahead and "will soon appoint a new leader in a timely but deliberate manner, who will meet the standards of our Club and expectations of our fans."

Relieved it's been resolved, and my thoughts will no doubt match those of many others - five great years, a truly magnificent Championship win in 2022, have never looked out of our depth or in serious danger of the drop, some excitement in the Cups, but just starting to look a little bit stale over the last few months, and maybe in need of freshening up. The "feeling" that this may be coming certainly hung over the tail end of the season.
For a football manager to remain in post for five years these days is some achievement - now comes that trepidation of "who comes next", hoping the Club have the right option(s) lined up, and the worry that the great work of these last five years could all go tits up in the first few months if the wrong bloke comes in.
Anyway....in the meantime, thank you Marco. Can't blame him for taking the opportunity to manage one of the biggest clubs in his home country. Perhaps the club can arrange a home pre-season friendly with Benfica, so he can take a well deserved final bow.

I've greatly enjoyed the last 5 seasons under Marco. He delivered his brief, given us loads of memories and now moves on to a new challenge. Honestly, I've never managed 5 years at one job!
That said, I'm glad it is now done and we can move on. Thank you for the memories Marco, you'll eventually be Forever Fulham.

I'm slightly worried tbh, because I'm not inspired by the names linked with us so far and we need a decision made soon. The club will also need to invest quickly in new players given it's a world cup summer and we're looking like we may lose Wilson, Raul, Chuk etc to what was already a light squad.

A great shame in my view but it was becoming a seeming inevitable outcome. I will have only positive things to say about him throughout his five years at FFC. I look forward to him returning one day in the future to receive a Forever Fulham award and I fervently hope I am there that day to applaud him.

All good things must come to an end. Marco for me ends at #2 on the FFC all time manager list purely because he never got us into Europe like Roy did. Will miss his passion and fire but not the annual spring implosion he never seemed to be able to avoid. I think change potentially comes at the right time, we had started to go stale this season and unfortunately Marco never quite seemed to have a proper plan B which was a shame. I hope he does well in future and I'm grateful for what he did for the club getting us back to being a comfortable midtable PL team.
I find it interesting that there was no quote from TK on the departure annoucement from the club. Part of me wonders if SK will follow a similar pattern that he had with the Jags and use a change of manager to tweak the playing structure of the club. Doug Pedersen was an experienced Super Bowl winning coach, and he replaced both him & the GM Baalke with Coen & Gladstone because they wanted to do things differently, and also installed a former Jags HOF player into overseeing some of the playing side of operations. I hope SK uses this as a chance to pop in a full-time DOF (which Silva was apparently promised previously) alongside a new manager to push us to the next level.

However, the manner of the ending (from both Marco & the Khan's), the long drawn out saga of the Groundhog Day scenario, both grates & disappoints me hugely.
In time it will be seen as a poor ending to what was a very good career for all parties.
Barcelona are in good shape & have produced reasonable results & end table position - down to Jose.
What will Marco bring to the party?
For us he rebuilt, stabilised, signed experienced older players, improved their performances & gained us mid table stability. He was "helicoptered" in to perform this. He achieved it.
This is his specialism. He isn't a "completer / finisher", that's just not in him. That isn't being critical, just stating what his skills sets are & what he is competent in. Barcelona don't need that they need more.
However, that's not our problem anymore.
We look to the future & someone (who?) can take us to the next level.
So, COYW!! let's hear asap & move forward.
A somber day indeed. Marco was amazing for FFC and I'm sad to see him go. Appreciate that he didn't get us into Europe like Roy did, but Marco's teams earned more points that Roy's qualifying team. It's a different world now, with the rich at the top protected by FFP rules.
We need to view the next steps as an opportunity. It's an opportunity for total disaster for sure, but I think Marco took this team about as far as he could. And that was really good - solidified in the EPL, no real inkling of danger of a drop. We may wish for that in the years to come. Or we may look back on the selection of a new manager that, combined with Mr. Khan's willingness to spend (which appears to be growing), took over the baton from Marco and continued building greater success. What is it Newton said - "IF I have seen so far, it is because I stood on the shoulders of giants"? That's the goal here - take Marco's success as a foundation and build even more.

He has done a superb job. I have a gripe about some of his FA Cup and League Cup selections, but across the piece, his legacy will be a memory of five excellent years. I did get a feeling across the course of this season that he had lost some of the inner fury which drove him on, and needed either a break or a fresh challenge. An amicable parting may be good both for him and for us.

Great manager, I agree he's the 2nd best in my lifetime, after Roy. Stabilised us in the Prem and we took a few scalps and broke club records along the way.

The first season in the championship was one of my favourites. Mitro then making fools of international defenders was fantastic. I hope that he does brilliantly at Benfica and that we get to beat his team in the Champions League. Always enjoyed his passion on the sidelines.
