Title: Social Media Ban and FoF
Post by: demeant0r on June 15, 2026, 09:51:42 AM
This is not meant to be a political or moral discussion as this topic will get banned and so will I, so please, none of that.

This is meant to discuss how the social media ban would affect this forum. The ban would apply to any site "whose purpose is to enable social interaction and which allow users to post material". That describes pretty much every site ever, but especially message boards.

Would this forum need to implement ID checks and would that cost too much for the admins to continue running this site? I fear this will kill many hobby sites like this one.

The ban itself would be specific to the well known services/sites. Anything beyond that is unlikely to to affect static topic focussed BB's like this one where the primary aim is discussion of a topic, Fulham FC, not social interaction in a broader sense. At most private messaging capability might need to go.

Okay, thanks. That's put me at some ease. It would be a massive pity if message boards like this one had to go as it would surely be too expensive to implement ID checks.

No worries, we should be exempt from any shenanigans from the Establishment.
Unless of course they identify what is taking
place at the Hammy End Sewer, I mean Bogs.

There are a few who act like they are under 16
