Unless he is covering things up don't expect a manager signing very soon. Interesting though that he is in UK.

Rehash of the interview last week with Jack Kelly other than that their are two candidates in the running for the head coaches position.

Exactly!
I would add, lots of words but none of it adds up to any worthwhile information.

For those unable to watch right now, can somebody summarise? or was it just a like-for-like club version of the Jack Kelly interview?

He's saying that some of the people that the media are saying we're linked with including favourites they haven't even spoken with. Two candidates have had several meetings with them but they have also had meetings with others. They would like the new manager to also have a good rapport with the fans (so I guess no Lampard)

It sounded to me it was more like a general manager than a director of football, wasn't wrestling on in England recently.Interesting the board have interviewed some candidates besides father and son who else are on the board with cloat perhaps ceo and the fellow he comes on and give awards to past players never saw him when we were getting 3 to 4 thousand.

He just said a lot of the names bandied around in the press they haven't even spoken to.  It would appear that there are two candidates in the running that have been spoken to a number of times.  He also said it was relatively early days as they were fully expecting Marco to stay..Regarding incoming players they are working on that too but obviously the new manager will have a say in who he wants.  He also hoped our away support would improve..

I got the impression that the interview was a couple of days ago at least,  so not that up to date. Interesting that the club decided to put it out today. Hopefully things have progressed. I thought TK ducked the question he was asked about being in the DOF role for ten years.

He was talking about away results improving not our support.

Oh I clearly got that wrong, although it could do with improving!!

I really don't get it with some of our fans, when he stays silent you all accuse him of not doing his job and being absent now he does an interview you accuse him of waffling and not saying anything. What did you expect him to say because if you're waiting for names your living in cloud cuckoo land. What did we learn? He is here in England not hiding in the states, They have spoken to many candidates and have two candidates they really like who they have spoken to several times. Some of the names mentioned in the media including so called front runners have never been considered. In Jack's interview he revealed Pepi failed his medical and we won't be signing him because it's too big a risk for the money.

Sums it up completely Mick. Whatever TK does or says lots will still moan one way or the other. The most significant fact is that he is in London, probably filmed this a couple of days ago, so hopefully something being tied up.

In ten years I've never previously watched or listened to Tony Khan and been reminded of George Orwell.  But in the video he's doing his bit to keep the Aspidistra flying.  What a glorious pot plant that is. Southerly aspect and floor to ceiling window clearly agrees with it.  It gave about as much away as Tony Khan.

Everything he said regarding the managerial situation is consistent with the preferred managerial candidate being involved in the World Cup.

The Pepi info was a small nugget from about an hour of nonstop waffle - don't expect 'classified' info, but when he's asked a question he doesn't come up for air,and it's all so tedious.
Couldn't care less when he's quiet but when he does decide to come away from AEW for 5 minutes I'd rather it wasn't simply a tirade of his love for Marco Silva and loads of words that don't actually say much at all

Watching the interview had me thinking they are possibly in to double figures now with a couple probably more suited to how we how we operate.
For a so called Professional club to have all their eggs in one basket beggars belief considering Silva's contract situation.
Unless we get a UK based DOF the owners will continue to be blindsided and we will keep asking the question when will they learn?

This.
I hoped we'd turned a corner after some mid-table stability and two more ambitious/ sophisticated transfer windows than usual.
But no, here we are in the midst of another key transitional summer, rudderless, because it turns out our DOF was quite literally the last to know the manager was off, oh and we've also ruled out signing the closest thing we'd found to a Mitrovic replacement after three years of waiting.

What player is this then
signing the closest thing we'd found to a Mitrovic replacement after three years of waiting.
If you say Pepi you need to give your head a wobble.

We can't afford to be slow out of the blocks like last season.

New manager and a lack of signings is a recipe for disaster.

Totally agree Mick.

Sure the guy was a bit of a bellend ten years ago, but he is not that man anymore and I think people need to give him a break.

Its been two weeks and there is a world cup on where absolutely zero transfers will take place. There is absolutely nothing for an even slightly rational person to be panicking about.
