Title: England Vs Croatia and French VAR
Post by: Steeeeeeeeeed on June 17, 2026, 09:00:38 PM
France in charge of VAR tonight.

Let's see how England do, Modric still pulling the strings for Croatia.

Surely England will win this one.

Thought that was harsh retake decision. Okay a bit of encroachment but Kane took far too long over the first attempt.

Really harsh on the keeper. Kane stuttered which tricked him. You dont see them asked to be retaken very often. Kane was lucky.

Absolutely nothing harsh about that decision. Easy decision for the referee and VAR. Keeper moves and players encroach.

A hydration break - obviously very important during a game being played under a roof in an air-conditioned stadium...

At least it means the Americans can run adverts during them. Which I'm sure isn't the real reason behind them at all.

Bit sloppy at the back in areas for England, Stones and then Kane.

Need to sharpen up.

Very sloppy England so far. Deserved equaliser. Back four look very unnerving.

England back four look like Fulham's back four on a bad day.

Feels dirty having a few bottles of Budweiser, not my normal tipple but at 50p a pop from Tesco it'd be rude not to.

Shocking at the back... sitting far too deep...

2-2.

England waiting to give a goal away at the back. Has Pickford had the most touches

50p?! Blimey.

I have noticed a lot of supermarket beers are not much more than gnat's pee these days. All brewed in the UK instead of imported, and much lower alcohol content. At least they'd cheap I guess!

Tuchel's tactics are parkerball with better players. Until we stop playing with a fear of not winning, we'll never actually win anything

If John Stones is a better defender than Guhei who is naturally left sided then manager needs pulling by the media for that decision. Is not Guhei experienced enough now?

Really not sure about Bellingham.

It's starting to feel that he had a really lucky season or two a few years ago, especially all those goals at Madrid, but he just doesn't seem that special now,.a good box to box runner maybe, but not particularly skilful or creative.

He had a good run through earlier, carried the ball well to the edge of their box then didn't seem to know what to do, should definitely have resulted in an attempt on goal one way or the other.

Bring Rogers on.

Also has Gordon had a touch yet ?

I enjoyed that.
A mixed bag of the good, bad and ugly...but pretty entertaining.
And with a good result.

It was the numbers driving forward, while protecting a lead. That was different.
Thought we closed them down well.

when you see the replay of it it's apparent that's it's a spot on decision keeper off his line and two defenders in the area before the ball was kicked .

For me, it wasn't so much the keeper moving (given the stutter) as to the other two encroaching,  one of whom prevented Kane from getting to the rebound.

Well, that's the standard they have to maintain throughout (apart from being more solid in defence)

I think it was more to do with you threatening to lock him in the Hammy end bg's.

After carrying out an internal patrol of the Hammy end bg"s.
I have to report that my Lilo is now blocking the entrance and Nick Bateman is blocking the exit.
