I've still not watched the "new" Equalizer, but used to like the original series with Edward Woodward when I was a child.
Not quite as action packed as the Denzil version obviously, but it was very good.
The first one was brilliant
The second not brilliant but very good
The third, well that was one too many, didn't work for me.
The second one was utter tosh.

The Denzil films were fairly entertaining but not his finest work. All perfectly watchable though.
Thought this post was going to be about Denzel Dumfries getting an equaliser for Holland at WC :slap:

Yeah, this is a problem, obviously Hollywood can't creatively come up with new approaches. They go to sequels of good movies. Really tough to do. Denzel Washington one of my favorite actors. Agree with some here, just put out the first Equalizer movie and end it, no more sequels. Most sequels are tosh and just don't measure up. Always thought Jaws was a terrific movie, but then they had to produce 3 or 4 more sequels. Garbage. I think one of the few great franchises in this regard was the Godfather movies. Those were all great, and will stand the test of time. Not many franchises will meet those standards.
As I said, DW one of my fave actors. Several other great vehicles:

Inside Man
Man on Fire
