Maybe there are examples people can quote. But in the vast majority of managerial appointments going back to the year dot, fans do not get a running commentary from their club on how negotiations with a potential new manager are going and/or why there is a delay. Yes, silence is annoying and rumour fills gaps, but I'm not sure that we should be expecting anything different.
People moaning about no announcement, now announcement made moaning about what time it was, can't help but laugh.
