Title: NFR Chelsea
Post by: demeant0r on July 31, 2026, 02:51:42 PM

"Chelsea have been fined £10m and given a suspended ban from registering new players for two transfer windows for breaching rules relating to payments to agents between 2009 and 2022.

But the club have had a six-point deduction, which was suspended until 30 June 2027, "set aside" on appeal."

"Set aside" What does that mean? They'll get this six-point deduction if they commit another infraction?

It means it's been overturned and will  not be applied. Sadly.

Points deductions should be the main punishment in these situations. It is the only thing that will have an  affect on these clubs, fines won't.

So another example of a big club getting away with murder. Six points could have meant another season where they don't get into Europe.

It stinks, mind you so does the club.

A while back Luton Town owned up to misnomers by the previous owners, no setting aside for them. 30 point deduction that sent them non-league.

Now we have Sheffield Wednesday taking a right old battering from the EFL.

That will be reduced to £2 and 3 points after an appeal.

Don't know where football, sport in general, is going. Beyond corrupt, making any major achievement pyrrhic. It sold its soul to big business long ago, and this is the result. Very sad.

This corruption plus VAR has been some of the factors in me not renewing my ST.

I will attend a few games next season, but I will be attending none league mainly for my football next season.

I will probably join you at Ipswich and that's about it for me this season.
