Not sure Bongo I've not been in here much of late, where u at Mr. HV71 ?
Change was needed, if Silva had stayed we could have continued in mid table mediocrity with a few highlights each season.
But I believe he had run out of ideas and enthusiasm with the risk of relegation a possibility in a couple of seasons time.
A new head coach and rebuild brings its own risks but better to initiate change rather than stagnate and then react.

He's working 24 hrs a day to pay for the 30 season tickets he buys every season or perhaps he's reading more Donna Leon books.
A new adventure of a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, more ups hopefully but judging the new managers signings and tactics should be a hell of a ride.
I'd like us in a domestic cup final. Europe can wait as far as I'm concerned. As fun as the Europa season was we were a tired team when we arrived for the final. There were some great nights along the way though.
Always look forward to new season. Especially first game at home v top club, I really hope/expect to get something out of the opener.......
I couldn't agree more with the OP.
Properly excited about this season. Whilst being safe in mid table was never to be sneezed at, some of the football that got us there was turgid beyond belief and I can't be the only one that hopes that using up half the game with passes from Bassey to Andersen to Bassey to Leno to Andersen etc is now firmly in the past.
With the departure of Guardiola from English football, it was noticeable at the World Cup that those teams who ditched Pepball were broadly more successful than those who never did, Portugal being a prime example.
I hope that the Premier League also now returns to more exciting front foot football where teams look to take on their man and beat them, rather than take 10 passes to get round them.
With our new influx from Real Madrid (and say what you like about that club, but they do have a pedrigee DNA of winning and playing front foot football), I am very excited at the thought of our new cohort of tricky Spaniards weaving their magic and dumping ageing lumps like Maguire, Tarkowski and Van Dijk on their backsides.
I applaud the club for its ambition with AA and all and really, really hope it works out.
There will be highs. There will be lows. In the end, it will be Fulhamish. No doubt.

I'm allowing myself to get a little excited now that Garcia and Palacios have been announced. I'd imagine if we get in Pitarch, we could get a good few new fans from Madrid. Imagine the shirt sales and a sold out Riverside.

I'm feeling quite a bit more comfortable now we've got some signings in. Still plenty to recruit, but some of that can now come later. Aside from Andersen's suspension, I think we've got a squad now for opening day.
Would need to start by stocking the shirts in the Adidas stores around Madrid. The anti-tourist mob might no be so elated.
One or two more and it could be a very entertaining start to a decent season. Looking forward to it.

Too early for football for me, especially so soon after the World Cup, and the summer weather. I am also beginning to get quite disillusioned with football generally because of the revolting sums of money sloshing about, and how football has strayed so far from its roots. Maybe it's an age thing too. I still want us to win, but I no longer get the same excitement thrill from supporting Fulham as I did many years ago. Once the season properly gets going, I'll maybe perk up a little.
At this stage I think we have 12th in us with the signings so far, Add a RB, CM, GK and I think we could be talking 7th and a Euro spot.

Kind of agree with this, for now, somewhere mid table. We've only brought in two new players, so still some more work to do. If we can see players like Sessegnon and ESR come into their 'prime' years with gusto and contributions, then, along with some more new acquisitions, Euro play should be within reach.....

The disillusionment thing is one I have struggled with for at least a couple of years now. FIFA and the WC have been a sick joke for at least two cycles now, I think top flight football has lost contact with its traditional support base, I detest the sums of money sloshing around, even at Fulham (and I think our owners are pretty decent) we have done several things to alienate our fan base.
Then the season starts and the old hopes surge and I get a bit excited again. That said, when I make the iconic walk by the river down from Hammersmith I no longer get quite the same buzz I used to feel.
