Title: Fulham 2.0
Post by: JimmyConway on August 06, 2026, 01:56:20 PM
How far off are we from a total revamp or revolution depending how you see it? 6 months a year or two? Lot riding on Arbeloa and his appointment by the board. What happens if it goes pear shaped? Will the age group of player/s with potential sell on benefits still be adhered to?

Had the board convinced Silva to stay we more than likely seen a completely different strategy to this window. Yes we needed a makeover and looking like age is having a major factor to the re-build and future economics?

Most teams will have a balance in this league and important for us to have some resemblance in the team what with new players in key position/s along with rookie manager. Just hope we don't try to run before we can walk as this current Fulham team/squad/management could come under early pressure next season as we still have players slightly unproven Kevin? Bobb? will they deliver? Be interesting to see if board hold there nerve if the going gets tough or will future financial implications make up their mind?  Not sure there is any Fulham fan who will not have in back of their mind this comes with a risk?

We'll still almost certainly go into the season with an above average age squad, and probably more PL experience than most of our peers. We really started the revamp last season with Kevin and Bobb, and it'll probably take another year or two after this one before we're in line with clubs like Brighton and Bournemouth, if indeed that's our aspiration. I'm not worried about too much, too fast, because that's almost impossible IMO from our starting position and with our budget.

Talksport look to have Fulham as favourite to go down. Not that I listen to their drivel. They put the question to their "thickest" pundit here was his takedown.

Gabby looks out of his depth when paired with a titan intellect like Stelling.
