Title: Hello everyone
Post by: Peabody on September 06, 2026, 08:29:38 PM
I am still here and tomorrow (7th) I celebrate my 80th year of supporting Fulham. Nice to see that some of you are still show very little patience. Why not just wait and see. Still, I have no regrets and I could not have supported a better team.

Happy Anniversary Sir! A devotee since 1946 then.   ::thumb::  ::scarf::

If that was 40 games each calendar year that would be 3,200 games you have learnt the results the of! ::thumb::

brilliant, you beat my paltry 65 years.
I have no regrets either about supporting the finest club in the world.

I think we can agree wee must both be very patient because if it were all about success we would have to support a different, less good club.

But what I am troubled by is what I have witnessed since Marco left and I am worried.

So many happy returns on 80 years and I wish you many many more  ::wine::

Well done Mr Peabody, 56 years for me. I think what people are frustrated about is not learning and repeating the same mistakes. I don't see why both fullbacks have a be so high, every time we lose the ball on one wing the opposition only have to switch to the opposite wing and they have the freedom of the pitch to run at us. Let's hope the penny drops so everyone can be back on the same page.

I feel your pain. Everyone in my class in Ackmar Road, supported Chelsea or QPR. The Australian teacher followed Chelsea.

Peabody, sir.

Seeing as you seem to be the elder citizen here.... who are youf favourite players? Not necessarily who you thought were best but favourite?   I am just curious.

Mr Peabody, just for clarification are you saying you have supported Fulham for 80 years or it's your 80th birthday.

I am 81 and supported Fulham for 75 years, I was ill last week and had to cancel which probably was a blessing in disguise Saturday.

Accident really,I was 7, my a dad died in June, my uncle from Liverpool was waiting for demob and decided to take me to a football match. Thankfully Fulham was ar home. My goodness, it could have been QPR, I shudder at the thought

Well done old lad. I'm 85 but have only served for 72 years I was VERY little Ern so not allowed to attend the Cottage till I was 13. I could claim to have supported from home before that, but only attendance confirms it. I did get to see the Maestro play at under 21 level where the crowd was much smaller.

Congratulations Sir. Makes my 69 years supporting into perspective. Fully agree with your comments. Those of us who were around during the mid Sixties to the late Ninety's could only dream of being where we are today.

Many congratulations sir. The 61 years since my first match at the cottage (3 -1 v Bolton) pales against yours. The fact that we've shared the highs and lows of supporting our wonderful club cheers me enormously.

Moot point when i started supporting Fulham. Someone said it's on your first game which was v Blackpool 29th August 1959 so on that criterion i've only done 67 years. I still believe you should count when you were first interested and that was when we signed Roy Bentley September 1956.
How many Americans count when we signed Dempsey et al as when they started supporting FFC not when they first saw them play live? I believe their support started then.

Congratulations Sir. I am 81 and number 73 years through thick and wafer thin. I have no idea of which game was my first but I do recall my Father saying before leaving home, 'Fulham have this really good young player called John Haynes.....'

Not a bad judge your father Mr. Bog. My favourite after Roy Bentley is Allan Clarke. Thin as a matchstick but hard as nails and could score goals.

Morning Sir, You may like to know that I went to a junior school with Roy's daughter. Whenever I saw him at the school gates he looked massive! Totally agree about Allan 'sniffer' Clarke.

Happy birthday Peabody. I was 86 last week and have supported Fulham for 77 years Not bad having had a West Ham supporting father and the remainder of our Fulham based family supporting Chelsea.
