Title: NFR Karl Bushby
Post by: Twig on October 06, 2026, 08:05:52 PM
What an incredible man. He's become the first to circumnavigate the globe on foot. And after 28yrs of slog he had to finish by swimming the channel!

Worth reading more about this remarkable individual.

Unbelievable. When he got to the channel tunnel they wouldn't let him walk through the safety tunnel so he had to swim the channel! Twerps!  ::angry::

I wasn't aware of him or his walk around the world but have just read up about him.

This is clearly one of the greatest adventures and I was going to say "the man deserves......" but I'm not sure what award fits his achievement?
A knighthood at the very least!

It's funny you should say that because I had the same quandary. At the end of the day this is obviously something he did for himself (as far as I am aware he didn't do any charity fund raising but I could be wrong). Consequently I doubt he feels he deserves anything really. Perhaps some sort of recognition from the Explorers Club?
