My three in no particular order:
Norwich
Blackburn
Wigan

It depends who people lose this summer, the loss of managers and key players can be crucial.

For example, if Wigan lose a few players and Martinez, they look destined for the drop.

If Blackburn lose Samba along with Jones, they will be in and around the bottom three.

Agree with Norwich - two successive promotions will mean their squad will still have a large proportion of League 1 players, which must be a worry going into a Prem campaign.

I think Wigan will go if Martinez leaves.  He's a good manager (for all that he got them involved in the relegation scrap last season), and I think they'll struggle to find a replacement of a similar calibre.

I fancy QPR to be involved in the relegation issue.  The board don't seem overly keen to spend money and seemingly have no concept of stability.  I expect promotion to cause as many problems as it solves for them.

Since I've stuck a couple of conditions in there, I may as well have an extra pick.  Wolves.  I want them out of the division, and I don't think they've got a massive budget to upgrade on last season's squad so more of the same for them next season

Can kind of see the opposite happening. If he leaves, and depending on who they bring in I can see them being less pretty but harder to beat and picking up ugly points all season. If that makes any sense

We don't want Wigan relegated - that has proved a reliable 4 points a season for us.

Following on from Finnster01's great thread, I thought I would make a full poll of who people think will be relegated from the prem?

Finnster01's thread can be seen here;

I went with;

Norwich - I don't think they have a team capable of staying up, let alone a squad, nor time to build one.

Wigan - I think Martinez worked some magic this year, but I can see him moving on, or losing some players resulting in the drop.

Wolves - They just scraped it this year, but I really hope they finally drop next year.

The promoted clubs will all find it tough but Loftus Road is a difficult place for away teams, Warnock is a tough, canny bastard and there is money should the owners choose to spend it. I think QPR will survive for those reasons but Swansea and Norwich are likely to go down.

Wigan are my third choice because their time should be up particularly if Martinez leaves.

One established team usually implodes though and my outside bet would be Sunderland. They seem to be replacing quality with Champions League club reserves and often these guys struggle when they're not surrounded by really good players.

Good call on Sunderland. With the money they have, they should be going for much better players than simply Man Utd rejects.

Bruce is a hughely overrated manager, luckily they never see this and therefore continue to underperform in the premier league.

QPR board may show a bit of interest around Christmas time and Paul Lambert will keep delia's lot up.
Wigan knackered without El Torro and Wolves is just a deep personal wish.

I've put Swansea but hope not as they play good football
I've put Wolves and I really hope so because they play ugly football
I've put Wigan because I think they may lose their manager and a few players.

What really pleased me though, was when SSN put up the odds for relegation candidates we where not there in a list of 8 teams. 098.gif 098.gif

Yeah basically.  I'm not saying they should be in the Prem, i'm saying they have got less chance of going down than other sides.
I would absolutely love stoke to crash and burn this year, and they can take wolves with them. :014: :014:

So far Wigan, Swansea and Norwich are topping the poll.

Although as someone also voted ManU, I am not entirely sure that everyone is taking this as seriously as they should!!

Title: Who do you think is going down?
Post by: Frankie-Peter Taylor on June 18, 2011, 07:37:01 PM
I strongly believe that Swansea will stay up. I've watched them a lot this year and they play some beautiful football. Energetic and quick wingers, Sinclair and Dyer were influential in them getting promoted and the addition of Danny Graham, in my opinion, is superb, I believe he is one of the few strikers in the Championship that can make the break to the top division.

I think unless QPR buy Premier League quality players, they have no chance. Taraabt will not be able to play in the Premiership how he did last year and Routeledge - as we know - isn't exactly amazing. The rest of their squad is pretty poor, bar maybe Paddy Kenny.

Norwich have bought Championship players. I don't think James Vaughan, Steve Morison or Ritchie De Laet will help them at all in staying the league, Wes Hoolahan will be influential in deciding their fate as if he doesn't play, they do look like the League One team from two years ago.

I'm too sure who will take my third place, it takes a bit of thinking, but I'm going for Wigan. They look certain to lose N'Zogbia and Rodellega could well join him. Roberto Martinez stayed loyal to the team but I feel unless he sorts that defence and midfield out, they have no chance.

If anybody has some different ideas or views as to who will go down and why, please feel free to reply.

In conclusion, I think QPR, Norwich and Wigan just won't have enough to survive in the Barclay's Premier League come May 2012.

I think Swansea, Norwich, and Blackburn.  Swansea had a good run to get promoted, not sure if it will stick.  Norwich can only go as far as the diving Holt can take them, and Blackburn cause...I dont know why.
