For the right price and right wages he would be excellent

Can't see us bothering if he demands too much

32 year old striker. I'm massively underwhelmed.

Again, not what Jol has said is his aim, he wants young players.

awesome player. With him, Duff and Zamora as a front three we'd be hard to stop, especially if they can fit Dempsey and Dembele into the side too!

Guaranteed to win next season's London Masters.

Well he's clearly aiming young with a lot of the players we've signed or are linked to, but equally, you don't turn your back on excellence when it's available to you.  Bellamy's a fantastic player and I'm sure would enjoy Fulham.  Like Duff he's played at the top and made real contributions at that level.  It's a fine line - we need to build for the future, but if every season is first about survival (it is) then the more very good players on hand the better.  As long as they don't all retire or lose effectiveness at once.  Then you do have problems.

I wonder what this means for the Riise rumours!

he's also a bit of a punk is he not? I'd prefer if we steered clear and took a gamble on a younger less-established forward

It looks as though his injury troubles could be behind him as well - he played 35 games last season, most of which were the full 90 mins, and racked up 11 goals and 14 assists. Yes it was only the championship, but I reckon he would still be good in the prem.

A lot depends on who else we bring in but this time last year we were all wanting to sign Jason Roberts, just as back-up for Zamora. We didn't, and we know what happened to BZ.

One of Bellamy/Robbie Keane I wouldn't be too gutted about, provided we bring in some quality, and young quality at that, in addition.

For the record I never wanted Jason Roberts, he is too fat.

He's different to anything we've got at the moment and he has the ability to be up there with the very best.

Now if you look at is stats from last season scorin 11 and setting up 14 in 35 games you would expect with better players in the team feeding the ball to him he'd score more.

Having got rid of Kamara (who I rated) and Eddie Johnson I think we still need some quality backup and I think Bellamy would be perfect to fill that void.

He can also play on the wings of a three up front which would potentially be lethal if he, Zamora and johnson/Dembele/Duff were all playing on the top of their game...

There'd be no harm in getting him in and would also set out a statement of intent that jol can bring in top players. I'd love to see more attacking and good quality young players but I feel we may need one more successful season under Jol and in Europe to really convince players who are talented and have the rest of their careers ahead of them.

Here's to hoping it's a strong and good transfer window.

I think we need to qualify these stats with the statement "during his time in the Championship last season".

My reference to him playing in a sub-standard league was made with the statement "you would expect with better players in the team..."

Yes, non the less, I have two independent and totally reliable sources who claim that we are in advanced talks with Bellamy.

And if we sign 5 players, there can still be three 20-24 year olds if we sign Bellers and Mummy's boy - as we have also numerous youngsters who will be ready in one or two seasons.

but you're also playing against a much higher standard of oppo, there's no 6-0 gimmes at Scunthorpe in the prem. Swings and roundabouts really,

He would do a good job but I would be concerned as to the affect he may have on the dressing room.

Murphuy doesn't look like the sort of bloke to put up with any nonsense.

Secondly - didn't Man City have a clause that stopped him playing for another PL side?

I doubt Bellamy and Riise will be having a round of golf together !

Talking about buying him aren't we? Neither club in Manchester wields that much power!

He's possibly the most hated man by the media in this country, isn't he?

You see, Bellamy has been good, he has been bad. He's 32 but that doesn't stop other players being great. I'd prefer, out of him and Riise, to have Riise because we don't have an experienced left-back (if Salcido leaves). As much as I like Briggsy, experience would be better. Riise can defend, get forwards and hit 30-yard screamers. He can play left-mid too, as he has for Liverpool and others. Just keep Bellamy in solitary confinement until match day and don't let him anywhere near anything metal or too solid and sign both.

I'm a big fan of Craig Bellamy - fantastic player, arguably one of the best in the league the season before last! Was mental that he dropped to the Championship...
