Title: Why didn't Roy give Riise a go?...
Post by: Tktd on March 06, 2010, 08:19:14 PM

Or Okaka for that matter... we all know Riise has the quality to really make a difference , especially with his crossing and Okaka is fast and has the build to cause their defence even more problems! I thought Gera and Bobby at times kept getting in each others way!

All in all a draw is probably a fair result but I thought we could've sneaked it due to our second half performance and am left a bit gutted by it, although, we could've done better, we could've done a lot worse and well done to the lads for another clean sheet!

Riise only has himself to blame for the lack of game time mainly due to his outbursts against Duff earlier in the season (it's widely believed Roy was furious with him for his lack of professionalism).  Besides I think he lacks the pace and the positional awareness to be a decent Premiership player.

Greening played the whole of the second half with a back problem that went into spasm. So as painful as that is it was thought he was a better bet in central midfield than making a change elsewhere. In other words the balance of the side is always upper most in the mind of our manager. It was ever thus.

I thought they weathered the storm and did well in the last 30 minutes, well enough to nick a win. Given that was probably their best period is probably why changes were put on hold for a while.

However, would prefer to have seen some pace injected. I thought the tottenham defenders were there for the taking at the end.

Top players for me were Zamora, Duff and Gera (2nd half).

Last thing Fulham need is a replay. The good news, watched a bit of Juventus yesterday. They did not look that good.

Riisa did not get a go because he can be a liability in defence ....................he has crazy moments and  Roy wants his day at Wembley ..........it's a damn shame that Junior-Ging is not, like he said,  better that Duff.
We would be happy for 'As good as Duff '' ....and what we did get  ???? sandwich spread  !!!!( squad filler.)

Let's kill off Juventus in Turin and then field our youth team for the home tie.
