Title: The Pog is staying

Pavel Pogrebnyak has sought to end any uncertainty about his long-term future by confirming his intention to agree a new contract at Fulham.

The Russian striker has scored six goals in 10 Premier League appearances since moving to Craven Cottage from Stuttgart in the January transfer window.

His form has alerted rival clubs to his availability, with Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish a long-term admirer of the 28-year-old.

Sunderland have also been linked with a bid for Pogrebnyak, but the former Zenit St Petersburg forward wants to stay with Fulham.
"I would like to stay in England, in Fulham," Pogrebnyak told RIA Novosti. "That's what we are working on now."

good to hear, striker is certainly a position that has left a lot to be desired this season. Hopefully we will bring a couple more strikers in in the summer to create some healthy competition.

Wouldn't be happy if we went into the new season with just him as our main striker. His frailties have been exposed recently after a ridiculously good start.

He knows where the goal is, and gives his all.

I do agree though, we can't rely on him and need to strengthen things up front in the next transfer window.

he needs a striker partner as the best formation that suits him is 442

We need to sign another striker that's for sure. A paceman would be ideal.

Great news. He is a player that will get better I've no doubt about that, but it would help if we acknowledged he isn't Zamora so don't lump the ball to him. Definitely bring another couple of strikers. We've seen the benefits of competition this season.

Six goals in ten games tell me he is a bit better than just a rotation striker.

a hattrick against one of the worst sides in premier league history? he is a rotation striker. good in small bursts but over a prolonged period of time will be found out

Agree too. If only he had more opportunities in front of goal... next season?

People from Germany say he is not a prolific striker, but 47 Russian caps say he is pretty good in my book and his link up play is better than Zamora, and he does not have as many spectacular misses as Zamora, although not quite as Physical (which means he doesnt give away as many stupid free kicks!)

His link up play is better than Zamoras? Really?
I know Bobby wasnt the most popular but be real, his hold up play and bringing others in to the game was quality. Pog, for what he does bring to the game (better finishing, covers more ground) has trouble controlling the ball into him so can't really involve others (unless they're chasing his first touch).

at the end of he day he has  already scored more goals than aj in the league this year and we got him for free....

aj has scored 6,3,3 in the league year after year.
The pog for free has already matched aj's best return in a single year

rotation or not, we already have a better striker so its a win win
