Title: Jol standing firm over Dempsey and Dembele
Post by: Brede Butter Pudding on May 11, 2012, 08:07:59 PM
Probably little chance of it happening, but if we could keep the two of them here and add a few more players of class we really could push for top 6 next season.

Martin Jol has reiterated that Clint Dempsey and Moussa Dembele are not for sale after confirming there have been no bids for the Fulham duo.

Dempsey has scored 23 goals in all competitions for Fulhamthis season, but the USA attacker is out of contract at the end of next term.

He has been linked with a summer move to Everton, while Belgium international Dembele is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester City and local rivals United.

However, Jol is determined to hang on to the influential attacking pair and is focused on improving his squad for next season.

"There are no clubs who have come in for bids. Even if they put a bid in they are not for sale," said the Fulham manager.

"Of course you worry because I want to keep my best players. If we can do that and add two or three, we could have a very good squad.

"I feel they still will be here (next season)."

Jol added that talks with out-of-contract players Danny Murphy, Andy Johnson and Stephen Kellywill begin next week.

if we sort out our away form and keep our home form, next year is going to be one to remember!

Both will be gone, or else Moussa will stay and Demps will go or vice versa but either way both will be gone

Don't agree. I get the feeling that unless a massive offer comes in for either of them then they won't leave. The only thing that worries me is how Demps looked after the Sunderland match. He looked quite emotional as if it was his last time at the Cottage. Let's hope not

Just keeping the interest and price up I would've thought.

I'm inclined to believe they will stay unless big money is offered for them. We refused Arsenal when they bid for Schwarzer as they didn't bid enough, I expect a similar stance with Dempsey and Dembele.

The difference between the Zamora situation and the Dembele/Dempsey situation is that we actually want to keep Dembele and Dempsey. I think we did very well to fetch £5 Million for Zamora considering the manager didn't really want him and Bobby was unhappy at the club.
