Time left to rescue our swoop for Chadli??
....SSN
Confirmed on ssn
far rather he went to spurs (will he get in team??) than liverpool, provided they pay the fee
Much happier that he's gone to Spurs! Seems odd though that they've just bought two of our midfield.
Will be interesting to see what he says about the goings on at Fulham once he's left if he does though!
It's seems like desperation to get away from us is setting in!
Still no Champions League club.
Been a great player for us, but all this just sours it!
Makes me laugh! Next time a Cockerel fan suggests that they are a massive club and FFC is a small club, we should remind them that they have, on many occasions, taken players off of this tiny, insignificant club! In fact it seems this season two of the super Whites!
I wonder will there be someone coming out way in return?
Clint ends up going to Spurs when he wanted to go to Liverpool the whole time. They are short on strikers and wouldn't fork up a couple million to get Clint through the door. I am much happier he is going to Spurs but I am really sad that he is leaving Fulham. The man always worked his butt of and scored when no one else could. Good luck Clint at White Hart Lane.
EDIT - Sorry Mods I didnt see the other thread about Clint at Spurs Lodge. You can merge these if you want.
I would actually wish Clint all the best with this move. Far more likely to get the CL football he deserves and a much, much less objectionable club. Plus it will amuse me to see Liverpool with egg on their face. Come on Spurs, put your hand in your pocket and let us move on.

I would pick Sandro...
The fans don't seem to be overly happy with it, which is a bit bizarre really.

I fully agree.
The icing on the cake is that we can press ahead with our complaint to the FA regarding the Scousers.
All over Twitter right now
Clint Dempsey has signed a three-year deal with Tottenham
The fee for the transfer was £6m.
It is done!
OK, you can wake me now... :scarf:
Deal reported done at £6m, so 50% more than the Liverpool offer but still a bargain price
Very pleased that Liverpool's dirty dealings have not paid off, and the icing on the cake would be if they now get sanctions or a fine on the tapping up charges.
Bye Clint. Thanks for the memories and thanks for the goals.
Thanks god for that.

Now that it's all done, I'll be interested to see how the fans react.
The way he left has given me a sour taste to ponder. I don't think any of us want this club to be spoken about in those terms. We heard much about Clint "refusing to play for Fulham ever again" and whispers from 3rd party sources. I'm wondering if the biggest fault lies in the way the media were seemingly pushing him away and attributing cash values to him that seemed frankly insulting for a guy who scored 17 goals last year. Alas...he finally got his move and we can all look on this with the hindsight I think it requires.
For all the crap that we endured this summer with this sad saga...I've got to thank him for being such an integral part of what is now (in part due to him) a top-half club with bigger ambitions than even the fans could think of. While we are no different than most Prem clubs in that staying in the league is the most crucial goal of the season, I look at our club and think that if we get them playing well individually as well as clicking as a team we could be a frightening team to play on our day.
We've had our share of good managers since Sanchez left, but Jol leaves me thinking we're truly progressing as a side despite our best players invariably leaving when they get the chance.
I feel better about this than I thought I would.
This has made my day. After the stress of yesterday ie. would QPR hijack the berbatov move, would he go to West Ham (my in laws are West Ham Fans I just couldn't stand it), Liverpool have really made me laugh out loud. Although I hate the way Dempsey has behaved I wish him luck, but I just can't stop laughing about Liverpool!
With the squad we have now, you should feel just fine. We're going to be pretty damn good this year!
Bit less than the 10-12 mill being bandied about by the kiddie experts on here :005:

Differing opinions make them 'kiddie experts', huh? 1 extra year on his contract and people may have said higher than that.

Thing is if I'd said at beginning of year would you rather have richardson and berbatov or dembele and Dempsey which would you have picked? We lose our two best in form players for an out of form player we hope turns things around and a squad player. Not saying we're relegation fodder but all this we're a better team without them and with what we brought in is a bit of rose colored glasses. We are not a stronger team today. Just my opinion.
Hopefully Demps lets us know the full story about what went down with the club.
I'm still a big Demps fan, still have to watch him as part of the USNT, I just hope he had a reason to behave the way he did.
Difficult to understand the idea that Clint's dignity has somehow suffered. He has only made one statement since the end of last season. (that via twitter after Jol's outrageous charges which he later recanted). Deuce and his agent have been quiet. Jol and the silly Brit press have been the ones talking.

Do you think that Modric's dignity suffered at any point?
Wish him well-a Bullardish move at best-at least he has MLS to fall back on rather than MK Dons-time will tell....
