Put a good price on Dempsey, stuck to our guns which Liverpool clearly didn't think we'd do and now we get the money we asked for from Spurs, Liverpool are left short due to their arrogance regarding the whole issue and now they're going to lose out on him, he's going to sign a big contract at Spurs and we will have bought in another two players to cover him leaving up at least whilst Liverpool wont even be able to make another lower offer in January!
I'm happy with this as well, because if we're being honest, Tottenham are a better team than Liverpool and much mroe likely to get into the Champions League and are in Europe, something Liverpool aren't in.
Liverpool look to be in real deep water now though having got rid of Carroll etc and not brought anyone in. Happy days.

It's amusing because even the LFC fans I've spoke about Dempsey have the same arrogant attitude (I work with a few!). They have always argued the were in the driving seat and his value is what they're prepared to pay, not what we're asking. I guess they still believe their a 'big club' and can therefore do as they like.
someone just pointed out on twitter that they paid more for Konchesky then they were willing to pay for Dempsey! Or that they would've cost the same - a lot of Liverpool fans seem to be fuming at Liverpool for letting him go when he was going to cost so little.

He could be looking for houses up in the Wirral now, uprooting his family to play for a mediocre team. Instead we hold out and he gets to stay in London with a realistic outside chance of playing CL, at worst play for a team that is showing real ambition in buying one of the best Midfield players in the Premiership and not selling everyone. He will probably fit Spurs style of play much better than Liverpools new keepy keepy football. Now lets see what he has to say

Just looking on the web FSG Boston Red Sox pay 4th largest team salaries in MLB $146,371,619 (2012) and they can't stump up a couple of million more for Dempsey who would have been on relatively low wages, they must be in a bad way; not a big fan of Bassett and Dowie but they well emphasised the value of Dempsey to prospective clubs on Sky Sports News tonight.
I am happy that Dempsey has left, he didn't get on with Jol and I want him to move on and be successful. The thing I hate about Dempsey are the fans that follow him... how can you support 1 player? it makes no sense to me, they're not proper Football fans they just follow him because he is the only decent player from their nation.
