Title: Sascha Riether was a great signing by Jol
Post by: JackyFulham90 on October 18, 2012, 09:07:11 PM
I really hope we can sign him up permanently, he has really impressed me was a top signing by Jol especially on a loan deal, I think we should snap him up now while he is fairly cheap not wait like we did with Pogrebnyak where other teams can step in, one of Jols best signings who has completely squashed Stephen Kellys first team chances, very solid right back you know Riether won't let you down

The thing is, hes been such a good buy no-ones really noticed. He's slotted into the team so well.. and is a great defender.  Great business from Jol...

Couldn't agree more...he has been excellent, and seems to have such an engine. Hopefully he can keep fit and we sign him.

He defends well and has quite a cross on him. Skinned a couple of players with a quick infield shuffle to boot. Should be a requirement that we always have a German right-back...

He reminds me of a defensive Damien Duff, he makes everything look easy and does what needs to be done... great signing and not had one bad game yet! *touches wood*

Brilliant signing. I mentioned on another thread that he could become our best premiership RB. Great positioning, and a willingness to get forward.

From the interviews/videos on the offal and from what I've heard, he has a fantastic attitude aswell and really embraced the history and meaning on Fulham Football Club. I would be very disappointed to see him not signed perminantly

Pretty sure when we signed him on loan it was with an option to make it a permanent deal.

So I can't see why on his performances so far we wouldn't take up that option.

He looks to be our best Premiership RB. I've really enjoyed watching him play, he defends really well and can put in some fantastic crosses as we've seen. On top of that, he seems like a really nice guy and I think a friendly German right-back will make us a team that more neutrals will come and support.
As for his loan, you're right. We have the option to buy him after the loan is up so thankfully no club can come and swoop in for him. Tie him down Jol!

Great post, Jacky Fulham.  I agree completely.  He is a class act.

Duff and Reither is a great combination you know our right side will always perform regardless of the opposition, defensively and attacking.

MasterHaynes you have it right. It is all about combinations .

Would he look as good with Ruiz in front of him rather than Duff ? I doubt it . Look how much better Kelly looked last season when backed up by Duff .

Still I agree he is looking good . And hope that Duff keeps going in front of him
