Title: Could learn from Swansea
Post by: PaulJ123 on February 09, 2013, 10:51:21 PM
Jol wants to play this great passing, quick football. To do this we need to change tactics

Swansea play a formation/style that we should copy. Michu up front is how berbatov should play (who has been outstanding this season). Michu isn't really a striker, and Berbatov says he isn't as well but Michu stands up there and is so much more of a threat. Of course, them using quick wingers makes a huge difference compared to us using Ruiz and duff.

In regards to this, this would be my team (considering everyone is fit):

Schwarzer
Riether Hangeland Hughes Richardson
Sidwell Diarra Karagounis
Dejagah Berbatov Urby

For me this looks easily a top 10 team.

Swansea have the players for that.  There's absolutely no pace or youth in his Fulham team.

If we played the right players we could have pace

I'll give you Dejagah, been impressed with him of late.  Frei is injured as you say, and Emanuelson is still bedding into the squad but has looked a step above everyone else in his few minutes so far.

But pace comes from more than just two wingers.

Pace is just half of it.

The other half is movement i.e. making space, offering yourself up, creating opportunities, etc. when you don't have the ball. We seem a bit static at times.

frei left askan right and emanuelson should star tin the middle. he looks good because he is. he is a first teamer for ac and is only here to recover from injury. also if we drop berba and hugo and play petric up top that will give us more movement and pace
