Completely agree with that. It's risky, but y'know we're safe ( :hook:) so I'd rather we went for it and tried to make it an entertaining game.
no to ruiz playing central midfield. him and emanuelson simply should not be allowed to play that position in the premier league. chuck in frimpong for ruiz and thats the team id go for.

So you wouldn't play the only guy that has scored for us in the past month on Sunday? Bold...

its either him or berba for me. and berba has the edge. hes too lightweight to play int he middle. same with emanuelson.
Why do people thing Ruiz in a central midfield of two is an answer. We might get away with it against teams that get relegated.....oh wait no we didn't.
Ok maybe we will get away with it against teams in the top 8...no i doubt it.
Your all just trying to fit him in the team in anyway you can..just as Jol does.
Am I alone in thinking that since Dejagah has been out injured we have lost a bit of sparkle?
Nothing is ever a concern for Jol
Like, how 2 days before the transfer window closed, Dembele leaving was not a concern because no one could match his buy out claus

We've lost a lot of sparkle since Dejagah was lost. We might be left with just a little twinkle, though we seemed to be hiding that for the most part last week.
When Dejagah was last on, weren't we 3-0 up vs QPR...since hes gone we've conceded 13 and scored 3 getting 1 point.
Lost all sparkle
We are sparkleless
Not to be confused with Sparky-less, which we are also.

Says you - conveniently overlooking the fact that the comment before his remark about Berbatov shows that he is concerned that we should not have to rely on other teams' results to be safe.

He's not as lightweight as everyone seems to think. Even then do you really need two heavy duty midfielders? Karagounis doesn't seem to put in tackles all that often (they're not great when he does) and yet people love in CM.
I just think Ruiz in CM means he will see more, be able to connect the back four with the front men better than others and he has the quality to put in a Murphy-esque killer ball to create a chance. Our other CMs don't do that enough, if at all.
That's just my two cents on it anyway, it's up to Jol at the end of the day, I'd just like us to go for it. We've nothing to lose, apart from the match of course..

I think we have missed Sidwell as well .
Basically been gone the same time . Exposed again our lack of depth in CM.
Though for self inflicted reasons !!

This is incorrect. The story went that Jol didn't actually realize that Dembele had a buyout clause (which is also a misstep on his part), not that he didn't think anyone would meet it.
We have tried Ruiz in a number of positions and the only one that at times works is right behind the main striker. To play him in midfield is defensive suicide.
I have given a lot of thought to Sunday's line up and come up with:-
Schwarzer
Reither ? Hangeland ?
? Enoh ? ?
? ?
Just can't fill in the blanks for fear of a repeat of the Reading performance.

Disagree. If there were rumours about such a clause on the Offal a couple of weeks before Dembele departed, Jol must have known before the day of Spurs' bid. As the club were powerless to stop Dembele from leaving once such a bid had been made, I can see why Jol would state that he wasn't concerned; it was simply a ploy of bravado. And why not?

You of course have ignored that fact Dembele said he would be staying for another season, Jol was not concerned because there had been no bids for him, and it was the club that agreed to the deal not Jol.

Sure what difference does that make?
Jol specifically said almost word for word a few days before Dembele left "He has a high buy out claus which no one will match, so for me it is not a concern"
I know that he said that because i heard it with my own ears.

think he actually said that no one could afford, which at the time i thought it was a dumb thing to say as even the saints spent more than that on one player

Now that Stockdale is back and Etheridge has signed an extension should we not try one of those before the season end?
Reither is still not right after that injury he picked up so I'd give Manolev a game.
Brede has been a stalwart all season and deserves a rest and it is about time Hughes had a game
It's probably a choice next season between Enoh and Frimpong. Enoh has had a couple of games so Frimpong should finish the season
Can't argue with the rest of your selection though.
Kacaniklic & Rodallega must start we need pace
