Title: NFR - motor insurance complaint
Post by: Southcoastffc on August 02, 2013, 01:23:29 PM
Hi,

Sorry to take your time.  I have a problem (too long to spell out here) with my motor insurers and I am going to make a formal written complaint to them.  A couple of things I am unsure of: Can I insist that they respond within a specific time period?  If they don't respond favourably, who else do I go to?  Insurance Ombudsman?  Financial Services Authority?  (has the FSA changed?).  Citizens Advice?  Thanks.

When I had a complaint, they sent me their final decision with where I should take it to next if I wanted (can't remember who it was now). They have to handle these things properly, especially if it's a well-known company with a reputation.

The AA or RAC would advise you if yu're a member.

The Financial Ombudsman might be a good place to look for help and if it gets to the stage where your not happy with how your complaint is handled.
