Yes, Brede hasn't exactly scored a lot of goals, has he?

I think it all depends on the manager and if they drill set pieces much. Under Hodgson, we didn't see many but under Hughes he got 4-5 in a season. Jol came in and he went back to before.

thats cos jol lets people like duff and kaca take corners when they can never beat the first man
just seen the goal, it was not a set piece and from what i could see and hear, he was playing in midfield
The kid seems to be coming along nicely. I'd like him to be a first choice CB for us in August.
I have a feeling Dan will replace Hughes at the end of this season, or potentially Senderos if we don't renew his contract (which I think would be a shame).

I can honestly see the back four next season being
Reither - Hangeland - Burn - Amorebieta
Burn is the long-term Brede replacement
Burn-gerland
I would hope that Burn next year becomes one of the 3 main CB's we use. I still expect hangeland and if he works out Amorebieta to be first choices and Burn would be 1st reserve.
Offload Senderos and Hughes and look for another younger CB. I doubt if Grimmer would be ready next year as he needs games somewhere.
He will be the next Hangeland, similar in size and physique, but slow across the ground. However, lack of pace didn't stop Brede, nor some of the greatest defenders, just look at Carvalho and Terry when Chelsea won the league at the start of Mourinho's first spell. I think he'll be an FFC regular in a couple of seasons.
anyone think that because Gary Johnson is a Fulham supporter that we should loan some of our best young players to them? Dan Burn did wonders for them, plus i went to the playoff final between Yeovil and Brentford(my aunty somehow managed to get hold on VIP tickets in the brentford end, basically sitting infront of Ian Wright and SWP), Dan Burn looked amazing and had Trotta in his back pocket the whole game. plus they are also a championship side now which also could be really benefical...
Singing Burn's praises, and not to hijack this thread, makes me appreciate how lucky we are to have Hangeland. He has remained loyal to the club and has been consistently one of our best players while he has been here.
Looking forward to seeing more of the younger players in the first team. Good to see Mesca, Kaca, Stockdale, and Kasami playing against Everton.
Continued good luck to Mr. Burn, and having kids like him in the club, gives me some comfort for the club's future.

Maybe he is now, but three or four years ago Hangeland was far from slow. For someone his size, he used to cover ground better than most centre-halves in the league - a bit like the old cliche, "long legs, big strides". (I think that's how it goes...)

Most our goals from corners come from Duff corners.
I think Duff is the best crosser of the ball at our club - Karagounis is probably not far behind.

ha ha ha, sorry grandad, we're talking about Brede here, you'll have to explain what a towering header is, and then the term 'scored'. To things he seems to have let slip in his recent games. Perhaps the armband is weighing him down, better give it to Parker, eh?
time to recall him, brede can not play on the right side at cb

you really didn't need those extra words ".. on the right side at cb"
