Title: Danny Murphy
Post by: Scrumpy on September 28, 2013, 11:03:35 PM
I'd love him to be our new Manager. He seems to talk such sense and would not be afraid to tell certain players to pull their fingers out.

Does a Manager HAVE to have his coaching badges?

Yes unless you are Gareth Southgate.  Murphy does speak highly of poyet though

If and it's a big if, we got rid of Martin Jol, then I would prefer an old fulham player to take over.

Lee Clark, Danny Murphy, Sean O'Driscoll or even John Collins would all get the thumbs up from me.

Not to keen on Poyet though, so I agree with Danny on that one.

Was gutted when Danny left  :dft004:  Played with a calmness and authority, and was a massive influence on the team.  I thought he would see out his playing career at Fulham and naturally progress to 1st team coach/manager.  I'd be more than happy to take a punt on his appointment.  He would need some experienced staff around him, but he's well connected and I think he would be a success.

No for me, makes zero sense to take such a risk.

Aha. Did your Welsh heritage have a say in that decision? Nice bloke, but management material? Didn't he have a disastrous spell at Palace, or am I imagining things?

Coach yes, manager no.

On that note, bring in Mcbride to coach some fight into this team.

Nope, the fact that he's produced a CRACKING U21 side, plus the U18's before that

Fair enough. I'd love a 'Fulham' man to be in charge.

He had decent spell as caretaker manager for Palace but Warnock got appointed and bought in his mates so Kit was let go shortly after. I think he was caretaker manager at Colchester for a bit as well with 2 wins in 5 and then they appointed Paul Lambert. All his youth teams for us have played excellent football and scored plenty of goals. Unsure whether he will make it as manager but would like to see him in the caretaker role if Jol goes.
