Hughes return with Stoke
Jol to pull a bag full of rabbits out of his hat to change our season (no chance it would seem)
Khan & the Board to act & appoint the right replacement ASAP this week - but who is it?
As for Khan, my best guess was that he wanted time to get through this season, surviviong in the Premiership, appraise Jol as manager, the team & the set up he has bought & FFC's potential
He also has his hands full with the Cougars & is (understandably) otherwise distracted with his other business interests
Sadly it has all started to unravel big time as far as FFC are concerned
The (mostly) glorious MAF years with steady progression & so much achieved, including making us a solid Premiership team have been slowly but surely dismantled, not deliberately but it is happening & fast
Unless action is taken very quickly now it could become rubble
We were only expecting that to happen to the riverside stand
Jol was always (supposedly) the "one" who was wanted
Sadly (for ALL concerned) he has been tried, tested & found wanting
Dead man walking etc
Someone posted that the team (or some of them) still appear to care
This is the core of what the new manager must work with to harness, influence, motivate, rebuild & drag us away from the bottom of the table - & rebuild beyond
Someone who ideally has experience (UK or abroad) together with coaching skills & knowledge - & is capable of communicating them to players & getting them to deliver it on the pitch
Someone who can build a positive relationship with us the fans, winning us over so as to support him & the team in bad as well as good times (we do understand that we can't win every match!)
So come on Khan - act today or tomorrow & appoint the new man - 6 days to go & counting!
COYW!
Well said sir,
See you at the Stoke game where I will shout my heart out as the 12th man to get a result, whoever the manager might be.
Agree 100%. Well said.
Jol should be removed before Stoke. We simply have to win this game, even at this point in the season, and I don't think we can with Jol in charge. It's hard enough when you've lost the dressing room, but the managers position becomes almost untenable when the fans are no longer on side. Fact is, if we don't hit the ground running, every mistake will be extenuated, every error pounced upon by the fans. It will be a vicious atmosphere and I don't think the players (or Jol) have the character to deal with it. Add to this we are playing a physical Stoke side who thrive on set-pieces & aerial play - something we have a proven weakness against. Surely, it would be best to make a change this week to give us some fresh impetus?
