Title: TeamNews berba ill
Post by: Zu-Meister on November 29, 2013, 11:38:54 AM
so might not make it tomorrow, rodallega and briggs still out. Hangeland 'looks great' according to jol, but still might not feature.
Hopefully this means hangeland back in with dejagah in also.

I'm weirdly excited for the game now with him out. Hopefully we should see the Bent/Ruiz combination along with pace on the wings that a lot of people have been asking for. It also makes Dembele the only other striker we have in the match day squad. Big chance to finally see him play for the first team on Saturday.

Agreed. I'm one who's been calling for Ruiz behind Bent so we'll see. A fit Hangeland would be a boost as well. Just need Rodders back now.

I bet he is fit and comes off, if he is half fit he will be on the bench. Agree a fully fit Hangers would be great he has not been his usual reliable self with the sciatica issues, but it is an awful thing to suffer form. As for Rodders, I am not a fan and never have been, his pace is useful to stretch defences but other than that he (in my opinion) doesnt bring much to our game. Against lower division teams he is a handful in the prem not so, maybe worth keeping for next season if the worst happens. I am confident we will stay up though.

This is the bit we should all be focused on. If Brede is truly fit, not just good enough to give it a go, then that is huge for our defense. He's not been able to jump at all this entire season which leads me to believe that he's never been 100%.

Can't be ill from over exertion! It'd going to be a midfield battle so I hope Ruiz is left at home  087.gif

                Stekelenburg
Riether Hughes Hangeland Richardson

Dejagh   Boateng  Parker  Duff

              Kasami
               Bent

Would prefer kasami with his work rate in the middle. Duff to start over kaca for me as their biggest threat is down the flanks and kaca offers nothing in defence

What do people see in bent? with him as the only striker there is almost no point creating chances, he will miss them.

What's the other option? I can't see throwing dembele in from the start in a struggling team in what is starting to look like a must get a result game

This is utter nonsense.

He had a bad shooting game. His career shows definitively that if he's given chances, he scores. Jol hasn't played him enough for anyone to claim he's on a bad run. And we've not created enough chances for anyone to get them on a scoring run.

If we're going to use the last match as any kind of barometer, then the logical conclusion is to continue with him up top. He was getting into good positions and the ball was meeting him there which means that we are doing things right going forward, for a change. We just have to continue supplying him with opportunities. He'll come good. One only need look at his scoring record to see it.

Bent does frustrate me massively with such a poor work ethic, poorly timed runs off the ball and missed 3 glaring chances at the weekend but like someone pointed out there is no other option.

Really like Mr prophets team... and I agree with the duff inclusion for the fact they are strong on the wings, plus he will play with passion.

Would love to see the Hangeland/Senderos restored at the back I have a worrying feeling Jol will try him on the right with Amorebieta again.

Dejagah, Duff and Karagounis would also be great to see.

He is too lightweight to be involved at all in my opinion. Wet Spam have got little going forward and just hoof and kick the opposition as much as possible. We need some pace, creativity and steel.

For me I would like to see

                      Stekelenburg
Zverotic Hughes Hangeland Richardson
                       Boateng Parker
Dejagah                Kasami            Kacaniklic
                                Bent

Subs - Stockdale,  Amorebieta,  Sidwell, Duff, Taarabt, Ruiz, Dembele

My line-up:
-----------------------Stekelenburg------------------------
-Zverotic------Hangeland---Amorebieta----Richardson-
-------------------Parker-------Sidwell--------------------
-Dejagah----------------Kasami-----------------Taarabt-
----------------------------Bent-----------------------------

Bench:
Stockdale, Hughes, Karagounis, Duff, Ruiz, Kacaniklic, Dembele

Kaca has been poor of late, Taarabt looked threatening in the few minutes he played vs Swansea, always looking to shoot or do something creative, he adds a spark to the team. Also Dejagah must start, we really missed him vs Swansea, Ruiz is no winger and Duff is not good enough to start.

His first game for 45 mins before being hooked at half time. It's ok his settled in to the league now.  064.gif

It a game that is going to be a battle there is no way he can start even the clown must be able to see that

I suppose I'm just desperate to see what Ruiz can do in his proper position but I do agree that Kasami would be a better bet on this occasion for the reasons given.

Is he? Has that been confirmed?  Whatever people say about Jol if Kasami, Kacaniklic,  Dembele & Tankovic make the 18 man squad then fair play to him for that .

he would next one in the pecking order if Jol wants another striker. Also he has a very good partnership with Dembele in the U21, strong lad as well

Actually how about tarrabt up front... bit of a random suggestion but he has pace, skill and from last weeks evidence a bit of hunger, and of course he is selfish and shoots a lot. Just what we need imo

Would love Jol to be really brave and make some big decisions... But I guess I know I will be dissapointed in 23 hours when I see the same boring starting line up... Ruiz out on the wing, no pace in midfield etc.
