Kvist was awesome, reads the game so well and looked comfortable, fit right in and looked like the experienced one of the 3 in the middle!!!!
Holtby will be awesome when played correctly....

Kvist looks like our best CM even based on one performance.

Out wide is NOT correctly.
He is the one to unlock the defence. The shirt number should be a clue lol

They were real positives today.

After the first half I thought we had a good chance, and those two were buzzing. We had some great scoring chances in the first half--maybe Sparta can put them away.

Thought Holtby was superb. So much creativity, brilliant vision. Everything I hoped Ruiz would become.

Holtby looks a proper player. He was excellent but would be even better played in his proper position. Rene is to blame for that.

What's with the blame  game ?????
It was the lads 1st game for pity sake,  he had 3 (?) training sessions with the team.  It probably is difficult making the decision to drop Parker,  who 100% does not have a winning mentality

Mentality has nothing to do with it.  Sidwell is the worst of the central players and should be the odd man out.  Yes, yes, I know, he's scored a lot of goals this year, and that's great, but does anyone here honestly expect him to keep up that pace?

Sad state of affairs when the supporters were clearly aware that our great hope, our German international was being pushed out wide and that it was not going to work.   Sounds daft, but you sometimes think that we could make better selections than the management/coaching TEAM do.

One thing you know with these 2 players, is that you will get 100% every match.

Whether the players around them are faultering or not, they will perform.

Holtby is one of the best central attacking midfielders in the league - I think Spurs were crazy to let him go.

The only worrying thing with Holtby in this team is - will other players be good enough to read his passes? i.e Bent.

We had that trouble with Berbatov (in his good days), alot of players weren't on his wavelength.

To be honest I think he and Bent would link up well. 1st half Bent made some great runs off the shoulder and Holtby was very quick to realise and either look to pass or travel with the ball into the space Bent created.
He MUST be central though. Behind the striker.

Holtby puts them on a plate for Bent - Bent messes it up.

It must be so frustrating for Holtby.

Can't wait for Mitroglou to come in and bag some goals.

So true, haven't seen such creativity behind a striker for years.

Not entirely true. I don't think Holtby actually made a shooting chance directly for Bent (can't remember who set up his 2nd one yesterday just after the volley) 1st half Bent played well

But I agree I look forward to seeing what Kostas can do.
And look even more forward to Holtby being the CAM not RM or LM!!

I don't think Bent really messed things up either. Holtby needs to be played in the middle and better chances will be created. Hopefully Mitroglou finishes properly.

It was Sidwell's pass for the 2nd opportunity.

What I was getting at is no matter where Holtby puts it Bent will fail to score.

I hope I'm proved wrong but I doubt we will see much of Bent once Mitroglou's fit.
