Has anyone heard of Alfred Finnbogason, plays for Heerenveen in the Eredivisie? Apparently we made a €10m bid for him and Heerenveen turned it down. From the articles it seems the player feels the move was denied because of Heerenveen's wanting more for him even though they said they would let him go if a €10m bid was submitted. Finnbogason seems a quality player and currently top scorer in the Eredivisie. I know the transfer window is done and dusted, but just thought I would mention this incase anyone had anyone knew about it. There didn't see to be any coverage on him during the last days of the window.

Yep, his goal record is astonishing. 28 in 33 games last season, and 22 in 20 games this season. I'm not sure whether the plan was to bid for back up in case we didn't get Mitroglou, or to partner him with Mitroglou.
I was also surprised by this report that we actually made an offer - possibly last minute when West Ham allegedly made a counter offer for Mitroglou?
Mind you Ruiz had an outstanding goal scoring record in the Eredivision before he joined is!
He knows how to finish. He's the type of forward we need, someone who will make runs and get in to the box. I think he and Kostas would made a fantastic partnership.
