I remember losing to Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup not long after Roy had taken over. Fulham scarfs were handed to the Fulham faithful as they arrived in the away end. At the end of the game they were thrown back on the pitch in disgust.
We did go on to bigger and better things !
I make you right, but I think we're in a much worse position this time around. Not just on the pitch, but the club, fans, management, owner etc. Our biggest mistake, which I will never forgive the club for, is not building on the Roy wonder years and stabilizing things. What we are experiencing now, is not another Lorry Sanchez situation, but a club that has suffered from neglect and trying to put things right at the last minute. You can smell the fear and desperation all around the club and the divide of fans is really noticeable.
In 2007-08 though we had fighters. And a great manager.
Other than our league position I see absolutely no comparison to the squad we had back then.
