...for our recent spell of poor performances and the position we are now facing, is it Rene?, no I personally dont think so, when he was first appointed there seemed to be an instant improvement in the quality of the players attitude following Jol's departure. Is it the Players ?, to a large degree yes, they have to take responsibility for their own performances each and every game, I am only too aware that it must be a difficult time for them when others around them also struggle to perform and show any kind of committment or professional attitude to the situation, familiarity breeds contemp. Is is the coaching staff ?, This is where I believe the root of the problem is. Whatever is happening on the training ground is clearly not working on match days. Players train daily as we all know, coaches are their to work with these players to identify individual and collective strenghths and weaknessess. It is these coaches that instruct players on the art of skill and movement around the pitch in order to outwit their opponents. It is these coaches who make decitions on which team is the best to pick with the players they work with day in day out. It is these coaches who advise the Manager/Head Coach on team selection. As stated above, Rene started reasonably well, but I do think that the introduction of both Wilkins and Curbishley have severely undermind his tactics and authority as Head Coach. I for one do not have a lot of time for Mr Wilkins, He is clearly a better pundit on tv than he is a coach, yes he was a good player in his day, for that there is no question, but that was a long time ago and the game has changd greatly since he was playing. Added to the fact that FFC sacked this man only Hours before the Play off semi Final against Grimsby when KK took over, he has a bad history with our club. Why oh why did they re employ him again. Curbishley, Again a great talker and a man with vast experience in the game, but at what level ?. He spent the majority of his managerial time in the lower leagues not at the highest level, so why bring this limited experience to a club playing at the highest level ? I do agree that he may well have good contacts with other managers and clubs to identify transfers etc but he is not in my opinion a top class football coach. The thought of him actually taking over from Rene worries me greatly at the moment, as I could see us plummit even further into the lower leagues should this happen. Is is the Owner, I do not think that anyone could blame the owner for our current position as he is clearly not a football man as neither was our previous one. I do however wonder how much time he spends with the team, at the training ground and at matches. MAF's presents at the Cottage and the training ground I believe made an impression on the players, he would walk around the pitch shaking hands with the players and accepting the applause of the fans on many occations, This I believe gives players and fans alike a morale boost and encouragement to all. It give a feeling that he believes in the players and the club as a whole and is there for support. Mr Khan seems to be away from the Club far more than that I think good and maybe a bit more of a presence around the place may, just may, help the team to improve the feeling around the team. So, who is to blame ? I am so confused with what is happening to my club, The club that came from the darkness to the bright lights, the club that has given so much feeling of togetherness with the fans over the past 16 years, I feel that unless something is done to retify this problem and identify the weakness within the group, our future could be very bleak indeed. Come on Fulham, lets get this sorted and move on.
Its from top to bottom in my opinion, Shad to the players, we can maybe not blame the tea lady unless of course she is slipping sleeping tablets in to the half time cuppa, which judging from some performances this may not be far from the truth!
Shad - genuinely, what is he doing here? Why Fulham? What does he want from us? He spend maybe 4m or 5m in the transfer window when we really needed 3 or 4 players of the greeks supposed quality. (before people mention the greek, rarely are fees paid up front but over the term of the contract the player signs for, lets be generous and say we paid £6m up front). We under invested at a time we needed a genuine injection of quality.
Jol - isnt a bad manager, history proves that, his hands tied by the Board? Who knows, but Rene isnt doing much better, if not worse.
So the players? Yep, appalling attitude, you cannot blame the manager, chairman or anyone else for the way we collapse when we go one down. We do have good players but again there is something at the club that is poisoning the atmosphere.
Hugo - crying? Really? This highlghts the fragility of some of our players, same with Ruiz and Berbatov with comments attributed towards them. All good players, yes, even Hugo, but managers have this one thing that irritates the hell out of me, not playing to a players strength. Every manager seems to do it, I just don't get it.
The answer? I don't think there is one for this season - we're broken, people like Allerdyce, Curbs, Wilkins are all footballing dinosaurs, they're not the answer, we tried the right thing with Rene and we either need to get rid of the majority of experienced 1st teamers and keep the younger players or get rid of Rene and bring a respected figure in. I'd even go so far as say Gary Neville. A winner, a recent winner, attitude, passion, aggression.
South coast, I disagree :028: Wilkins was not a good player in his day. The luckiest man to ever play for England. He always passed .....sideways or backwards, no surprises there. OK, he did score one decent goal in a cup final I think. Nearly forgot, tackled like a girl. :005:
Good post though. :54:
According to Rene's interview on Sky it seems that we're to blame. We must give unconditional support or we'll make things worse.
Our leader has spoken.

What standing in the pissing rain for 90 minutes watching that dross is not enough? fp.gif :dead horse: :dead horse:
Jol stitched Fulham up by selling our goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer who is still probably the best in the Premier League. Now I blame the negative influence of Curbishley & WIlkins.
I blame it on the boogie. It's all gone t**s up since the MJ statue wa pulled down :021:
You have to wonder what they work on in training. It doesn't appear to be tactics, passing, shooting or defending and, judging by the recent(ish) trend for second half capitulations, it's not fitness either.
