Title: Ladies & Gentlemen. Fulham FC.
Post by: DiegoFulham on February 05, 2014, 02:50:22 PM
I understand everyones pain, everyone talks about if relegation does happen that we'll be stuck down in the lower leagues for a long time coming. what absolute nonsence, we have the 4th richest owner in the premier league behind City, Scum & Saints. like yourselves i dont want relegation to happen i'll take finishing 17th at this current rate! if we do go down we'll rebuild, we'll do what West Ham & probably 'unfortunately' Queens Park Rangers are currently doing, be this seasons fall guy & bounce back the next bringing in players who want to do well for themselves & the club great club they represent.

For all the QPR fans who look at this page dont worry i have said this before, you might be a league above us next season but we'll always be bigger & better then you! when we do bounce back we'll continue the norm of finishing above you like we've previously done for the past 15 odd years so enjoy TF & Twitchy killing your club from the inside.

I will be there next season! despite the negativity around the club you'll experiance an amazing seasons of highs and lows! this is the reason we love football isnt it? Fulham Home & Away!

Our owner is a successful businessman and such people don't like to lose.  If we are relegated, I think he will do his utmost to get us back into the Premiership.

Agreed he won't like losing...but we don't know the full story about what constitutes winning in his book.

this is the point i keep making! he knows the potential of Fulham! he'll do his research and sort this problem out, Al Fayed wouldnt sell to someone who doesnt care + he would make a financial loss which being relegated causes.

Not so sure he will spend, our outlay in Jan was minimal, the greek for £12m?? Very unlikely we have paid £12m up front, most deals are spread over the term of the contract so annual payments made, if we're being generous we can say £6m paid up front but likely to be less than that. So if we go down, we sell the greek and our outlay was minimal. So relegation looms and he has spent hardly anything.

And what on earth is the potential of Fulham? We are what we are, a small London club, we have over achieved staying in the PL as long as we have, we cannot sustain large wage bills or transfer fees, we are a selling club, buy cheap or develop our own and sell them on. Its irrelevant that we have a rich owner, he has already stated he wants us to be sustainable, that therefore confirms  we're not throwing money at players (greek is a great example of that).

We've done well in europe and on more than one occasion we have struggled in the PL. We have struggled more than we have been successful.

Historically, Fulham have bounced through the leagues, that is the club we are, promotion, relegation, win some lose some. We have embarrassed ourselves in the PL with our away record over the period we have been in the PL. Number of managers with the same results, little Fulham mentality but that is what we are!

Massive thank you to the bellends who gave it the big'un to QPR fans last season going on their sites and on Twitter. Because you felt you just had to run your mouths, Fulham fans as a whole are getting it back twice as bad now. Good job, guys.

Tempest is spot on. What makes it so hard for us all to take is that we had a team, the team that Roy built, to be so proud of. I reckon there is nothing better than punching above your weight to make you proud in football. Someone else said it, we were everyone's 2nd favourite team, we were over achievers.
To see players like Hughes, Zamora, Davies, Gera, Murphy etc take the team to such heights (solid mid table and a European final)was a joy to watch. Let's face it, none were superstars.
Pride comes before a fall and the fall is from a massive height. A top notch manager with financial backing will be able to rescue the club, maybe not this season though.
