This is my seventh season as a full time Fulham fan (I watch every game I can, I visit this site daily, I read every article in the daily roundups). I've been to the Cottage, twice. I don't post here often, but I love Fulham FC like nothing else.
20 year old me didn't sign up for the easiest team to love with the most talented (with a bench full of the most overpaid) footballers playing abroad every other week. But for me and I'm sure most of you on this board, this has been a particularly tough season. I came to terms today with the idea that, as an American, if Fulham is to be relegated at the end of this term, that it will be very difficult to impossible for me to watch them next season. And that hit me kind of hard.
That being said, the last two games have been encouraging. Christ I love these young players, Burn in particular. Heitenga is an upgrade. Holtby has great vision and his pass to Richardson on the own goal was every bit as good as Gerrard's pass on Liverpool's first that everyone lost their heads over. On that note, what the hell happened to Richardson?? Where has his spirit been for the passed 4 years? I thought he was done two years ago. Mitroglou remains an unknown, but perhaps he can be this season's Pogrebnyak. We need the goals.
Khan/Mackintosh waited too long to make changes to this team and we'll see if we're going to pay for it. Meulensteen and these players need to find a way to take home points whenever they're within reach, we've barely missed grabbing a point too many times this season (Hodgson's Fulham used to tie every game). I don't know if we can do it (the bottom of the table is really strong this season). But I love this team and I've seen them do it before and the last two games are perhaps the best they've played all season (that Crystal Palace game was probably some sort of fever dream). It's out of my control, but they can do this. I will continue to watch the rest of this season, no matter what, and I will continue to hope against hope, because it is possible. Because I believe.
Come On You Whites.
:HD:
It sure will be one exciting finale to this dreadful season if we can get a run going. Got a feeling it will go to the last game of the season.

At this point I think its all we can hope for. To have a shot of survival on the last day of the season. Ideally a "we win we stay up" scenario and not a "we win and someone else loses" scenario.
If you offered that to me right now, i'd take it. I'd even fly back from LA for that one.

What have been the two games you have seen at the Cottage? Not Vs Sunderland and Southampton this season I hope.
