Great day at the cottage, nice to see some greats from the past wearing the shirt again. Well done to everyone involved.

Glad it went well - was it a decent crowd?

Really impressed by the number of Fulham old boys at the game. In front of over 2000 people.

Brevet, Eckhardt, Angus, Ouaddou, Symons, Melville, Green, Volz, Barnett, Greenaway, W Collins, Betsy, S Davis, N Smith, Boa, Stolcers, Ivor, Peschisolido, Saha, Hayles, Goldbaek, Beasant

Probably left some out as the above was done from memory.

9 - 3 to Fulham

Yeah a great effort from the fans today. Davis and boa have still got it. Volz looks like he could do a job for us in the championship, better than zverotic anyway.

I have a season ticket for me and my son. we have been to 3 matches this season. I got so peed off with Jol.

The most guilty I have felt, is not going to this match today.

I'm getting old but many of the guys playing today, I'm proud that they played for my club.

I should have been there

report from the offal

Fulham All Stars 9-3 Sealand All StarsSaturday 17 May 2014 15:30
Fulham All Stars emerged comfortable winners over their Sealand counterparts on Saturday afternoon.

The team made up of Whites legends ended the game with a 9-3 victory, with Sean Davis (2), Moritz Volz, Louis Saha, Barry Hayles (2), Andrejs Stolcers, Adam Green and Abdes Ouaddou all on target.

It took less than a minute for Fulham to take the lead. Davis capitalised on some dawdling defending to rob his man, dribble beyond another before giving goalkeeper Craig Ross the eyes and firing in at the near post. The midfielder celebrated with a passionate aeroplane dance not seen at the Cottage since the days of Vincenzo Montella!

The Whites were well in control of the tie and went close again on six minutes, but Saha's flicked header from Luis Boa Morte's corner glanced a yard wide of the far post.

Paul Peschisolido was then denied by a good one-handed stop by Ross, before Volz fired over on his left foot after working space for himself just inside the box.

A beautifully weighted through ball from Davis put Peschisolido behind the defence on 10 minutes and the diminutive Canadian went for a poked effort with the outside of his right boot which just missed the target.

Good link-up play between Rufus Brevett and Boa Morte then culminated in Saha picking up the ball inside the box. He stepped inside of his man but his right-footed curler sailed just wide.

Everyone in the ground felt sympathy for Kye Sones after 13 minutes as the X Factor finalist was unfortunate enough to get in the way of a trademark Bjarne Goldbaek thunderbolt. It turned out to be a crucial block, though!

Volz doubled the lead on the quarter hour mark with a fine team goal. Goldbaek threaded a ball for the right-back to gallop onto before squaring for Peschisolido who would have had a simple finish but unselfishly squared to Volzy for a simple finish.

Sealand's first opportunity arrived on 22 minutes when comedian Jack Whitehall's cross was handled by Rufus Brevett. Fulham man and magician Ben Taylor, AKA the Magic Mod, stepped up but his kick was too close to Sam Beasant – son of former Whites goalkeeping coach Dave – who saved well.

Furious at Brevett's antics, Fulham Manager Simon Morgan quickly hauled him off and replaced him with Green.

Sam Callahan then became the second X Factor Finalist to feel the brunt of a Goldbaek strike, deflecting his effort behind for a corner on 25 minutes.

After some touchline negotiations, Fulham players Kevin Betsy and Andrejs Stolcers switched allegiances to Sealand and entered the field of play.

Author Neil Forsyth tried his luck with a clipped effort shortly after, but the ball wouldn't dip in time and sailed marginally over Beasant's bar.

But Fulham went straight up the other end and made it three when birthday boy Hayles rose highest to power home Goldbaek's drilled corner, to which the crowd responded with a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday.

A big surprise was that Saha was yet to find the net but that soon changed after the half hour mark when he bent a sumptuous left-footed effort inside the far post with consummate ease.

Betsy got Sealand off the mark moments later, though, when he skipped behind the defence and rounded Beasant before passing into the corner of the net.

Hayles drew a good stop from Ross at the other end and then fed Brian Greenaway after the ball had ricocheted back to him, but the former Fulham favourite blazed miles over from a couple of yards out!

A delightful cross from former Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris was met by the diving head of Fulham Foundation coach and Sealand top goalscorer Ryan Moore, but he was unable to direct his effort.

A sexy cross from Green was bent around the Sealand defence just before half-time and found the feet of Hayles but his shot was deflected to safety.

Sealand brought themselves back into contention within a few minutes of the restart, with Betsy again proving a thorn in Fulham's side. After breaking through and rounding the goalkeeper, the utility man took what some may call a theatrical tumble, with the referee pointing to the spot. Betsy stepped up himself to send Beasant the wrong way for 4-2.

Fulham were then left shell-shocked as Sealand scored again on 51 minutes. Betsy slipped the ball through to singer Mark Corbett who slotted beyond Beasant.

They threatened an equaliser, too, when actor Danny Young bent one towards the far post, but Beasant got down well to get a firm hand to the ball.

A slick team move restored Fulham's two goal lead on 66 minutes. A slide-rule pass from Goldbaek found Davis in the area and he squared to Hayles who found the corner of the net.

The Whites had turned the style back on and Davis scored a sixth in stylish fashion. After playing a one-two with Saha the midfielder outrageously flicked a Cristiano Ronaldo-esque rabona beyond Ross at his near post.

Ouaddou then got himself on the scoresheet with a goal created by himself. He advanced some distance with the ball before feeding John Marshall on the right. Ouaddou continued his run and collected Marshall's pinpoint cross before calmly slotting the ball under Ross.

It was 8-3 soon after when Stolcers – back in the white of Fulham – collected the ball after his initial shot had come off the post and played it to Green who powered in his cutback.

Stolcers then went from provider to scorer when he caught Ross out at his near post to bend one in from distance.

In an attempt to get back into the game, Sealand adopted the unusual approach of having 12 men on the pitch, with Boa Morte now donning a red shirt.

It almost had a immediate impact but Moore shot too close to Beasant when he struck first time from Betsy's cross.

With mere moments left, the decision was made for the entire Sealand squad to enter the field of play, with 17 of them on the pitch at this point, but they were unable to claw another goal back as Fulham celebrated an emphatic win in the second annual charity match in aid of Shooting Star Chase.

Are you saying Goma was better? If you are then I have to stongly disagree. I loved Goma but I'm nearly 26 and been going fulham since 94 and in my eyes no centre backs come even close to Brede or Coleman. By far the two best I've seen in a fulham shirt. Goma is a very good 3rd. But not in the same league. Brede cant stay young forever, he's getting old but in his prime he was a special talent. Id put him top of the list of fulham greats from the premierleague era, showed loyalty too when he could of gone anywhere a few years back
