Basically 90+ points, we can probably lose 8 ......
I wonder how long Felix will get if it doesn't start well
COYW!
I saw Leicester and Burnley only lost 5-6 all last season. My first thought is that it will be a miracle if we gain automatic promotion.
But, clubs like Wigan or QPR - we basically beat almost every time we played them when they were in the PL. IF, and that's a BIG IF, we have that quality in the side and good organisation, you would have to expect us to win the majority of the games we play.
Will that happen?
I did some checking on pts needed:
How many pts we need next season (based on last 13 years):
Avg 50 to stay up.
Avg 73 for playoffs
Avg 87 for 2nd place
Avg 94 for champions
6 matches is a fair bit of leeway given the strength of the other teams in the league.
We won't be playing with our current team, so making any suggestions of predictions based on that is foolish.
AT LAST!!
Realism setting in .... An almighty task for tight group of seasoned players with two strikers in form.
We have got to put a side together yet!!!
There can surely be no margin for error. No chopping and changing, know your team in the summer and work on getting that it in place. No silly tactics. We're the big boys of this league and everyone is gunning for us. We cant afford to lose, or turn in sloppy performances. The soundbites of investment, work starts now and all that sound good, just remains to be seen
I disagree with the no margin of error...for at least the play off's.
Look at Wigan, started badly, changed manager and made play offs.
Lots of games and room for error, but if your looking at top two you have to start well and just keep it going.
At this moment we are a team in some disarray that have conceded 85 goals in 38 games, lets not expect too much too soon.
We had best concentrate fully on getting those 50 points needed to avoid another drop.
This is a good debate. 'Cos the Championship is a tough league, and there are 4-5 teams that are already BATTLE-HARDENED and think that it is their time. We have to turnaround very quickly AND pick the right players for this league. OLD MEN-HAS BEENS will NOT cut it.
My worry about Felix - and this is not xenophobic - is the Championship an "insiders" league - the locals know the best players / at the right price. Would second level German league managers let in a Brit??

We have a scouting team and with our tight budgets in the past prob know a lot about the championship players and why we probably link to Lansbury. Also Felix was at the Brighton V Derby game to get a feel of it didn't see Ole or Neil Adams there. I wouldnt worry to much about being an insider most clubs in the championship are on the verge of going bust and will quite happily take a few million quid

Why do people think we'll get relegated again? I highly doubt that we would be relegated with our youth and the financial backing we have alongside a prestigious manager. Khan has made it clear that he intends to get Fulham promoted, and rich men like him usually get their way.

because apparently the championship is the hardest league in the world, its so hard that no teams will get promoted next season.
And all teams will get relegated, apart from us. We'll get relegated twice. And sell all of our good young players for negative money.

that's normally what happens when you join the worlds hardest league, its a shame really as if we didn't get relegated next season as well the championship was going to break away and integrate real barca Bayern atletico juve and PSG into it as they are tired of playing easy prem teams
