Will be interesting to see if we bring another centre half in on deadline day tomorrow.
I don't think Magath is totally convinced by either Dan Burn or Shaun Hutchinson.
Obviously Nicolay Bodurov is the main man & has been top class so far but it will be interesting to see who partners him at Reading.
Cameron Burgess is clearly not ready maybe Tiago Casasola will be the man Felix turns too?
I would be surprised if we brought in a number, just by looking at the sheer volume of centre backs we currently have.
What he has done, is given Hutchinson and Burgess their opportunities to partner Nikolay Bodurov, and neither, of yet, has really grasped that opportunity. Dan Burn has come in and done well; maybe at fault for the goal, but the rest of his game was pretty magnificent.
When Felix Magath said that we could expect to see 2 or 3 more come in before the window closes, I don't think he walking talking about defenders.
In Bodurov, Burn, Hutchinson, Burgess and Casasola; we currently have 5, and that's excluding Fernando Amorebieta who I expect to see leave. Now, you could argue that the latter four are inexperienced, but I feel as though bringing in another (considering the numbers) would push 2 at least out of the picture.
I think we're set for numbers in term of defenders, let alone centre backs, so I would be surprised if we see another come in; even if Fernando Amorebieta leaves.
If magath brings in a micky mouse centre half because he doesnt fancy burn then I think ill lose the plot. Yesterday proved the burn/bodurov partnership is by far our strongest and I doubt there are many partnerships in this league that are as good as that pairing.
We need a midfielder, a winger and a target man. I dont think even felix would be stupid enough to drop burn but its a crazy decision like that which could make me hate the man again. I was encouraged by the line up and performance against cardiff and he won me back a little but all that goes out the window if he drops our best players randomly against reading. We have bigger fish to fry felix, lets have a bit of common sense now please
Burn and Bodurov can be our Hangeland and Hughes for this division, if fit they should be nailed on starters. Hutchinson looks a decent stand in and Burgess will be a cracking player in a few seasons. Far more pressing concerns than a another certain half, i.e. another centre mid and striker
I'm not saying I want a centre back
I am happy with ours I just get the feeling Felix isn't convinced by Burn or Hutchinson
Having signed three already I'd be extremely disappointed if we sign another and would question our scouting department
Bodurov, Burn, Hutchinson, Cassaola and Burgess should be more the enough especially with donally to come back
Tomorrow we desperately need another experienced creative midfielder and a big target man striker.
Anyone know if Guidette from city has gone out on loan yet? He'd be the perfect signing for me
It's a hard call to blame Burn for the goal. Staff was knocked down by the strength of Jones... that has happened to premiership players as well.... then Burn was faced with the option of staying in front of the player on the ball or moving across to Jones who was now free. It was a lose / lose option for him if Daehli made the right decision. If he had moved across and left the space then Daehli could have moved forward and had a good opportunity himself. Then we would have blamed him as well.
I thought overall Burn had a great game, not just good. Only a madman would drop him now. And our manager is ....
If he's not convinced by Hutchinson (who HE signed) or Burn who has been superb in last 2 games
then I'll have to withdraw my support for him.
I forgot, I already have.
His interview on BBC web site was incredibly 'toxic'
