Oh please... Really?
They might if the idiot in charge is removed.
Our defending was a disgrace. We had 6 defenders & 2 defensive midfielders & we still let in 5 goals. Total shambolic defending.

Agree, that was a real battling display, where we played Forest off the park at times.
I was proud of the lads tonight, and confident we will turn things round, whoever is manager.
letting in 3 goals in 12 minutes? Enough said I think.
We are on the bottom of the Championship with a DISGRACEFUL goal difference. If I had told you early last season that we would be bottom of the Championship in 12 months time would have believed it? You can call it whatever you want but I call it a DISGRACE. And people at the top need to vacate their position.
This thread is a bit of a disgrace to be honest.
I watched the 90 mins on the internet and at times we looked pretty good but Forest went to sleep after our first goal and allowed us to play. Top of the league they may be but they were average at best and our defending is a DISGRACE!

Points will NOT come under Felix Magath, under a competent manager then yes, that's what tonight has shown a lot of us, and that we're savable, if we don't wast any more time.
Battling your hearts out to lose if fine and dandy when you have shown that you can win. We HAVE NOT WON A SINGLE GAME. We are currently one of the laughing stocks of English football.
Magath is a DISGRACE of EPIC proportions, he is impersonating a Manager. The starting line up was for the umpteenth time, bizarre, the tactics when we didn't have the ball were a total disaster, at 3 2 up, we should have gone on to get at least a draw. He was reactive instead of proactive. If he had any conscious, and honour, he should resign with immediate effect.

But missing 3 of the team through injury that started against Derby.
Have just looked at bbc site and saw we had 5 yellow cardsbut the stats show that forest committed more fowls than fulham yet they had only 2. We had more shots on target and corners.
we have payed better football than most if not all the teams in the championship..more attacking passes, more shots than Nottingham AWAY!!!!! And still people don't see promise... Magath is not to be blamed. No other manager faces the same dilemma he is facing right now! we changed the whole damn team and the whole world thinks we will just play like a premier league team. And people still think we have to change the manager?? He doesnt know his best team yet. getting a new manager wont change anything
Why was Stockdale sold? The defence is even worse than last season. For all the extra training Fulham seem to run out of steam after 70 minutes. We need a proper goalkeeper as the present lot are either too young and inexperienced or past it. Magath does not seem to be able to organise a defence. In fact he does not appear to be able to do anything much. He is a dinosaur from a different age. Not sure why Forest were given their penalty. Burn seemed to win the ball fair and square. The radio commentary questioned some of the ref's weird decisions. The owner needs to sell the club to somebody who knows something about football. What a mess Fulham are in.

I fear you let your passion for Fulham blind you to the obvious. Take off the rose-tinted specs; six defeats out of seven and so many goals conceded that I have lost count is a damning argument against your assertion that we have "played better football than most if not all the teams in the Championship". What on earth prompted you to write that?
Gary is clearly a WUM, But if the best we can say after all this time is we were not a disgrace it is pretty damning. Nice that Rodders and Mac played together and looked good. Shame Felix has only now decided on playing them together. But then they could be dropped soon.
The team is there given the right leadership.

I think after the 5th yellow our boys were afraid to go into a hard tackle for fear of getting another yellow. In this way the ref controlled the game in favor of Forrest. Not to mention the PK.

We weren't a disgrace? Five goals conceded for ten second time In 7 games? Good players being badly managed. Simple as.
7 matches. 1point gained. 20 points lost. 29 players used in 7 matches, and a Manager that couldn't run a bath. I rest the case for the prosecution,

I see plenty of promise. Bar one match we have had the better run of play for the first 10 minutes, then we let a silly goal in and it all changes. Proper coaching is a MUST given that the average first team is barely in or just out of their twenties. It has been exciting but the lack of defense and finishing in this league is down to the coaching. This club needs to be told "do this for corners" "do this against set pieces" it clearly isn't happening. We have not let in a "worldy:" this season. Soft goals that should have been defended. I myself was a huge Magath supporter and on paper, Magath is the man for the job, but its clearly not working out. This season WILL make or break Fulham as it is probably be the last season we see all of our academy players together if we at least don't finish in the promotion spots. How many clubs have already identified David,Roberts,Hyndman, Woodrow and others for January? A fair bit I would imagine. I can't imagine any of them staying if we are near bottom in January. Felix is going to have to do a heck of a lot to convince me now. I could write off chopping and changing last year, I cannot justify it this year. The match only began to swing our way once David was introduced.
It is not only FM but the club aswell.
Letting both keepers go.

his best team was the one that played against cardiff, it was the best defensively, the most balanced, most organised and on another day that team would of held on. So why did kavanagh and kiraly play at reading? Why did the team change randomly again at forest??? Im sorry but the manager is the reason we lose, not that we have too many new players. Thats just an excuse now, 7 games my friend! 7 games! If a manager doesnt know his best team after that amount of time then he has no hope of being a success.
Conceding 5 goals cant be defended, its not good enough. Performances are great when your doing ok but when you're BOTTOM WITHOUT a win losing bravely isnt gonna breed confidence. All that mattered last night was a result and felix failed again.
Nothing personal to him, I dont hate him at the minute, I dont know him well enough to but he doesnt deserve such a high paid job because of past glory, at some point he has to be judged on the here and now and that day has arrived.
#shut the door on your way out
The problem is exactly that, after an end of season extended squad training, a whole pre season and 8 competitive games he does not appear to have a clue who his best 13 players are, what each players best position is nor what know his preferred system is to employ with the players selected.
Clearly from what we have seen we have a lot of very good players at Fulham why is it so hard to settle on who and how to play them? I think Forest Coach Wigley hinted the same the Forest coach, said: "Fulham have forgotten how to win – they could not have given any more for their manager. They will get on the bus feeling very unfortunate."
Over a period of 12 weeks Felix still makes unforced 4-5 changes every game. When you select a player for his first appearance who previously hadn't even featured in the match squad, select 4 centre halfs to play together,a new midfield combination in front of them why are we surprised we were unable to close up shop.
No continuity, constant change of players, it was not far off a scratch team put together for the one game, the players selected will know it will be all change again for saturday. Utter Folly and yet sadly so predictable. Clearly drawing names out of a hat for doesn't work Felix

We play the top of the division away from home. Choose a totally random team never before selected by the manager.
We cannot defend corners or free kicks so these obviously aren't being done in training.
I am totally and utterly sick of this!
This ludicrous and futile experiment must stop now for us to retain a place in this division imo.
Felix out!

Are you the Gary who was in Only Fools and Horses?
I'd seriously question a team built upon 6 defenders conceding 5 against a depleted Forest side. Defensively we were a disgrace. Not sure what Burn was doing for half the game, marking obviously isn't his forte.

It can't just be Felix tactics. The players are getting off lightly here and Magath is taking the full brunt. Those guys know how to defend and know how to start an attack. Shipping 5 goals in any game is an embarrassment as a professional. I feel I should place emphasis here on the fact I want Felix gone and disliked him from day 1 but 5 goals is unforgivable.

Not sure what is more embarrassing though, 5 goals in a single game or 18 goals in 7 games.
The OP has a fair point, which is that Felix has been presiding over probably the biggest overhaul in the squad the club has seen for a generation, and to expect us to be storming away at the top is a completely unrealistic expectation as a result of this overhaul, and by implication Felix needs to be given time to sort it out.
I was in this camp right through to last weekend, but my view since then has been that Felix will not succeed even though I have sympathy with the enormity of the task at hand.
By now I would have expected to have seen some form of stability in squad and style to emerge but every game seems to be an experiment and there is absolutely no sign of progression or momentum.

Exactly my point. Like I say i'm not saying Felix should stay, far from it! But those guys need to have a serious look at themselves. The basic's of defending aren't down to management!!! They shouldn't concede goals at teh rate of that with essentially 2 covering midfielders!

It is obvious their confidence is shot and this in my mind has been completely eroded by the constant and ridiculous changing of the team. You have a good game but hey, you're dropped anyway. Farcical and funny if it weren't so damn sad.

I thought MacCormack looked class but we will win nothing if we don't improve our passing, No use keep pumping the long ball up to Hugo .Hugo is Hugo scored 1 missed many, Burn had a bad night ,keep the ball on the deck like we did in Tigana's days when we baffled defences by our quick and accurate passing. This will not happen whilst we have Mr magoo in charge

Of course we are not going to be promotion contenders immediately if a new manager comes in because, as you point out, the players individually and collectively are making mistakes.
The point is we won't be able to see what those are and sort them out if the team, the formation and the tactics are changed every match. Get rid of the biggest problem and we will be able to see clearly what the other problems are.

Yes, it was the biggest overhaul.
But firstly it came about because Magath failed to save us from relegation (how avoidable that was or not). Secondly it came about because he chose not to renew certain contracts. Thirdly because he was willing to sell certain players like Stockdale, Dejagah, Richardson and Kasami.
What he failed to do was bring in two quality central midfielders that the squad has been missing more than anything and so he keeps fiddling around trying to cover for that.
Then he has brought in quite a few players, several on the off chance that they might ressurect their careers and a couple for no obvious reason at all. He has formed an over large squad. Lastly he has the bizarre policy for a professional club of `giving everyone a chance'.
We could have had a significant shift to a younger and refreshed squad without the mess that Magath has brought.
The problem is it is a different team every week. So different combinations every single time. No consistency AND the players don't want to play for Magath.
Play well = get dropped the following week.
Bettinelli played well and was dropped
Ryan Williams played well and got dropped
George Williams played well and got dropped
Patrick Roberts gets ten minutes a game to show how good he is, but doesn't get a proper run out
It's completely stark staring bonkers

I agree he has presided over a long overdue overhaul but it was his decision to ship out Sidwell, Kasami, Stockdale, Richardson, Mitro tried to offload Rodellaga, Amoriebieta and Ruiz he bought in the likes of Fotheringham, Chihi, Taggart, Kiraly and Hutchison. Paid a record amount for a striker who he plays wide or in midfield. Decisions which seemed naive at best and comparing the outs with the ins we are definitely a weaker team

Weaker. By a long stretch too.
Passion and effort may well have been there, but we will go down if we continue conceding an average of 3 goals per game! ORGANISATION & TEAM SPIRIT is what we currently need and we havent shown any of that so far!

Can't exactly say that organisation and team spirit isn't there for the players if the manager shows no support, lets not forget nearly every Fulham fan at the moment wanting his head. Players probably feel like they're at fault too.
Interesting comments from the oppo:
Their midfield ran that game for about an hour. Osborn was out-classed and against those players we need Vaughan to be available. Also thought Lansbury was anonymous when he played up front and when he came back to the centre he conceded a lot of free kicks.
Antonio caused them problems but he was also responsible for their third goal and McCormacks free kick. For a strong lad he was easily shoved from his position in the wall by a tiny bloke of their which allowed McCormack to bend it in.
Still, we wont come across many midfields and attacking line-ups as strong as theirs again this season. It's incredible that they are bottom when they have two thirds of a promotion winning squad but their defence is League 2.
&
I'm not one of those fans that thinks you can't support a club if you don't go to games but having just returned from the game (bloody Notts traffic) and read back through this thread some of you are totally off your fookin rockers and spout complete and utter bullpoo if we ever go a goal behind!
Assambalonga has just scored a hat-trick and Forest 5 goals and we have the 4-5-1 hate brigade coming out, FFS he pushed Antonio up alongside Asso in the second half! Then we have some loon having a pop at Pato, He made a real difference when he came on as was pushing their back 4 back on there heels and scored a great goal. Fulham are a bloody good side and will turn it around as there play tonight was pretty damn good. for us to come back from the disappointment of throwing away a 2 goal lead (their first from a dodgy free kick given) to win 5-3 was brilliant and the stuff of Champions. Our defence was always looking shakily because Fox ain't a centre back but we've lost Hobbs, Wilson ain't match fit and once again we haven't got a settled back 4. Yes the defending was poor BUT on a night when our defending was poo we rose to the challenge and went all out attack to win the game. Not only that but the first 20 minutes with the starting formation we were brilliant pressing and could have been out of sight! We're top of the league, Unbeaten and the leagues top scorers what's not to be impressed about. Some of the comments on formation and Forests weaknesses on hear bigger belief my 9 year old who went to the game today had better observations than some on here. Anyway rant over were looking bloody good! Tonight proved we can dig deep and play ourselves out of a difficult situation.

Feel sorry for Fulham fans...
How must they be feeling?
Lax opening stages to concede the first.
Dodgy penalty for second which only gets given against you when you are bottom of the league.
Then worked so hard to get back into the game and battered us for 60 minutes.
Took the lead - dreamland.
Then BAM.
I am enjoying how clinical we are. Automatic promotion chasers win those games like last night and not do **** all until the last 3 minutes and score an injury time equaliser and treat it like a win as we did too much last season
Keep the faith that's life .COYW
