With the first two signings of Fulham's summer, I thought I'd keep a post tallying how our squad transforms throughout the window.
Goalkeepers: Marcus Bettinelli, Andy Lonergan, Joe Lewis,
Right backs: Ashley Richards, Ryan Fredericks, Jack Grimmer,
Centre backs: Richard Stearman, Tim Ream, Dan Burn, Shaun Hutchinson, Nikolay Bodurov,
Left backs: Luke Garbutt, James Husband, Sean Kavanagh, Kay Voser,

Left sided midfielders: Ben Pringle, Alex Kacaniklic, George Williams,

He was! I put him back in, though to be fair to myself, he's been the same scrap pile as Adil Chihi, Dino Fazlic and Mark Fotheringham... This summer surely won't bring a quadruplet as bad as those!
Maarten Stekelenburg needs updating bruv
What about Cole, Eisfeld, Burgess,R Williams ?

Wouldn't class them as part of the first team. If they play a good amount over pre-season, I'll pop them in.
I hope we do not keep Amorebieta.

Good idea.
I personally never ever look at the Silly Season threads - seems pointless - but if others enjoy them, then fine.
Six weeks to the start of the new season and Ruiz and Mitroglou still with us and a free keeper and wide left player signed.
A lot yet to happen, I hope, in the next three weeks or so.
Are people, or would people, be happy going into the season with a strike force of McCormack, Smith, Woodrow, Dembele and Taggart?

Yes ,so long as Pringle performs we sign a replacement for Ruiz and LVC is fit. The attack then looks OK , more important is the back four, a left back and central defender become our transfer priorities.

I think central midfield is vital and Jamie O'Hara is not the answer! If we could find a buyer for Tunnicliffe that would free up two central midfield slots. Left back is vital. Speaking of full backs, all quiet of the Jazz Richards front despite having a bid accepted two weeks ago.

No, I don't think so, would need another main player to come in for one of them at least.

Regarding Tunnicliffe, some posters on the Blackburn forum said they be ok with Cairney coming to us if they got Tunni on loan. They were complimentary of his 'engine' and his general play and a couple intimated that he was the better player.
I thought Tunni did OK last season playing out of position in a formation that didn't suit him.
Quite happy to keep him.
I'm not a fan of Ryan Tunnicliffe. I think he's below average technically, missed opportunities when playing in the more obvious holding role. He's alright, but very scrappy. After his homophobic outburst (of which he admitted to) and then ranting about his ability to afford a fine his way, on top of his behaviour at Wigan which led to them wanting to send him back to us... He's recyclable. We would then have a gap in the central midfield in terms of more defensively able players, but we'd have made room for a technically better, more Fulham fit personality with potential to add a defensive midfield player.
He is only 22, but I just don't like him. That's just me, I think he lacks the class of Emerson Hyndman, the skill of Lasse Vigen Christensen and the ability to recycle play like Scott Parker.
All we need are 4 top quality defenders and that team looks quality. I feel we'll bring in 0 or 1 at best.
According to a good mate who has some inside info at Brentford , Fulham have gone back in with a increased offer for Tarkowski today, believed to be £2.25million.
Apparently laughed off, they want silly money for him, not sure why? Got him for peanuts from Oldham and had one decent season in the championship

Seems like Dunk is off the table then. Working our way down the list pretty quickly!

While i would not be happy, I think the defense is a larger priority. If we splash money it needs to be splashed there. If we can stop conceeding at the rate we did last year that is the key to moving up the table.
Tom Cairney has been added to the central midfield options, rumoured price of £3m, with nobody sold, our expenditure (in case you didn't know) is £3m.
Ashley Richards added, fee of £500k.

I don't mind Tunny to be honest. He's a tryer. Or do I mean he's very trying. 8-)
Having said that FPT, your opinion/comments on him are so well put I find it hard to defend him.
Good post.
I've said I'm happy with the front. Its deffo the midfield that we need to spend the money on imo.
I would like to see more of Hyndman this season tho. He is total class.

Updated - Jamie O'Hara added, Bryan Ruiz removed. Expenditure up to -£1.5m from -£3.5m thanks to the £2m received for Bryan.
Bump - incase you haven't seen the updates with Ruiz gone and O'Hara added.
Quick note: I've popped in Thomas Eisfeld and Larnell Cole as potential wide options on either side following the Aston Villa match.
Bump - a few changes made.
1) Patrick Roberts' exit added
2) Bryan Ruiz's fee revised
3) Tom Cairney shuffled over to the right hand side.
Plus a few general changes in the 'depth chart'
Updated for Luke Garbutt. Also moved Kay Voser to left back and Larnell Cole to the right hand side.
Ryan Williams exit added. TransferMarkt lists fee at £140k, I rounded up for the £150k.
As I see it we just have to find new homes for Lovebite and Mitroglou and bring in a top centre back and that will be the squad ready for the season.
Sakari Mattila the chiller has been added.
Think you are being generous with the £2 million pound figure for Ruiz. Racing Post have it as 500k.

Was changed in the original post - and mentioned 3 or 4 posts below that the fee was revised! Was about €1m I believe, rounds to around £700k.

Apologies, lazy reading on my part!
Forgot to add price and expenditure on Mattila, £150k rumoured - expenditure now profiting £2.2m.
Bump, Mitroglou's exit confirmed. Loan fee of £1m from what I can find. Ups the expenditure to just over £3m.
I've been on holiday so quite a few updates.
- Joe Lewis and James Husband added, as has Tim Ream.
- Taken out - Jesse Joronen, Fernando Amorebieta and Thomas Eisfeld.
Tim Ream fee from TransferMarkt so settled on that, expenditure moved to +£2m from +£3.2m.

Thank you! Now amended.
Casasola contract has been terminated.
Nope. Read somewhere he might go to AS Roma. I cannot judge him as I never saw him play.
Casasola never considered a first team player on the list - so won't add him. No financial gain either.
Bump -
Ryan Fredericks' move confirmed. Steve Cotterill claimed Bristol City were getting all they paid for him (£175k) so there's your price. As for expenditure, I just rounded that - didn't want to deal with £1,825,000 so this explanation should cover that.
We await the completion of Richard Stearman's move to pop us to -£200k. Very good window financially it must be said. Getting very good value for money in terms of fees and thats without taking into account the wages saved.
BUMP -
Richard Stearman confirmed. £2m deal from Wolves, expenditure now -£200k. I don't expect to see any more money spent.
So that leaves us a possible 13m to spend to stay within the FFP guidelines... Isnt Jordan Rhodes valued at around that....

The £13 mil includes losses on all expenditure not just transfers.
thanks for this. I checked the BBC transfer page last night to see the totals and they listed three players transferred in, including loans :58:
This is the ONLY accurate and timely source I have found during transfer periods. 065.gif
Yeah the losses permitted is around the whole club finances, not just transfers. One for MJG, but I don't think there's more than maybe £4m (if that) to "play with." Beauty of our window is that we don't really need to spend that £4m right now. Business has been cheap, but massively success - we've balanced the books transfer wise, massively decreased our wage bill and brought ourselves quality and depth.
Don't forget that transfer fees are amortised across the length of the contracts for FFP purposes so we wouldn't actually take a 13m hit if we signed Rhodes for that. It would be 13m across the length of the contract eg 5 year deal would be 2.6m hit for this year
I don't think Blackburn could be tempted to sell. He's the baby of the Venky's regime. I think they would rather sell two or three and keep Rhodes (already have done really in Cairney, King and Gestede). Anyway, I'm happy with Gary Hooper really. Not as exciting as Dwight Gayle or Matej Vydra, but he's still a goalscorer well capable of hitting 20 in this division.
As for a window update (officially):
1) Waiting for Gary Hooper deal.
2) Anyone signing Nikolay Bodurov
3) Confirmation of Adam Taggart to Dundee United
4) Anything to do with Dan Burn (though I don't expect anything) with no other centre back.
Not sure we'll be surprised by anything. Nearing the last 90 minutes.
Somewhat of a 'surprise' with Larnell Cole out on loan to Shrewsbury. I think we'll see Ryan Fredericks as an option for both right back and right wing - so there is a possible option for out there as well as Pringle or Kacaniklic shuffling over if need be.
Just over an hour to go.
Cole is 22 now & should be playing in real league football so a good move to see if he can shine. There is just no place for him with us at the moment.
No hooper by all accounts, that's Fulham done (Twitter).
Adam Taggart deal done, he's been removed from the list... Pretty much only waiting on Gary Hooper, think Bodurov will be a loan window one next week.
And that is that.... No Gary Hooper, Nikolay Bodurov remains a Fulham player for now.
