what will he bring to the party
I only know him from his Celtic days. He was prolific there but its Scottish football. Something like 65 in 100 appearances.
Think if its a loan with option to buy it would be a good deal. Has plenty to prove as he has fallen out of favour at Norwich.
goals but he isn't rapid but he isn't slow. not sure we are getting him, sheff wed still hopeful on this one
Prolific at Scunthorpe as well, 43 goals in 80 games. Ok, it's lower league, but show's an eye for goal.
not fussed wether we get him or not.
He's a typical english poacher; pretty quick, pretty clinical and likes to stay high up the pitch on the last shoulder.
WhoScored.com lists his biggest strengths as: key passes, finishing, passes; biggest weaknesses as: aerial duels and defensive contribution. And his style of play as: likes to do layoffs, likes to shoot from distance, does not dive into challenges.
He wasn't used too much by Norwich last year, but still got a decent goal tally (considering his limited appearances).
I think he's a solid 15+ goal striker at this level, but will never set the world alight [think David Nugent].
He got 12 goals (only 2 of which were pens) in 1450 mins in the Championship last season, which averages a goal every 120 mins. With that rate, if he played every minute of every game last year (ignoring extra stoppage time) he'd have scored 35 goals.
He also got 6 assists in 1450 mins which - using the same formula - would've equated to 14 assists.
Obviously it's a bit of a stretch to say he's a 35 goal a season striker, hence why I put him as comfortably 15+ a season, but it shows what he can bring - goals, goals, goals.

I think he'd be a good signing, would offer the attacking outlet we've been missing lately, and would compliment the players we have well.
Don't know much about him but from what I've seen I would say he's a poor man's Jordan Rhodes. We've been linked with better players. Even Vydra on loan would be better but it would be a decent signing if we pull it off. It's better than nothing which can't be said for every player we sign
Yeah he's a poacher. Think Michael Owen, Jermain Defoe mould - can score all kinds of goals, pace in behind. He's a goalscorer and we could put faith in him (as Craven Mad says) to score at least 15 goals, and it wouldn't surprise me to see reach 20. He and Ross will be a very nice looking partnership.
Though it seems to be based now on Norwich getting Jon Walters (who is also interesting Leicester and another side), whilst Sheffield Wednesday have apparently offered Gary Hooper (and Norwich) a very good package.
Could irrelevant as we he may stay at Norwich and we are looking elsewhere.

The loan window goes on for a bit so plenty of time for him to come on loan. I saw somewhere that Norwich wanted to bring someone in before he left and we were being linked to a Wallsall striker. But all gossip.
Terrific strike rate anywhere outside the PL.
SSN report we are sniffing after him.
