We don't have a best, and worst is anyone who has taken one this season

I used to play RB but took all the corners & can´t remember fluffing one. It just seemed to be natural to put one where it was wanted. Oh, & we used to play with real leather footballs & not the plastic beach balls they use now.

I don't think I ever saw Simon Davies take a bad one, same with Karagounis

Bullllard and Duff come readily to mind.

Clive Walker for Fulham
Effortless (seemingly) strike of the ball to wherever he intended it to go to in the penalty box
He scored 17 or 18 goals for us in his best season I think
Left foot, right foot, header whatever
Many were shots from outside the box into top corners of the net
A brilliant striker of the ball even if he came from the wrong end of the Fulham road

Gary Barnett fp.gif, loved his effort and persistence but taking corners was not his best attribute

In an ideal world, we'd have a pitch at the training ground that exactly mirrors that of Craven Cottage, include the mounds you have to run up to take corners. I remember Simon Davies once saying (though I can't find the article) that we have an advantage at Craven Cottage because he and Damien Duff are adjusted to taking corners up the small hill where the opposition players are not.

Back then, you knew we have Brede Hangeland who could chip in with a few, Dickson Etuhu also, plus Clint Dempsey who could also attack the ball with his head. Simon Davies' delivery was also quality which helped.

Never remember Brede or Dickson being a consistent threat at corners. In fact I think it was something missing in Brede's game- a bloke his size should have scored more than he did. 8 goals in 217 games is not a great return. Compared to Roger Brown 19 in 161, or John Lacey 21in 318

Struggling to think of a consistently good one. Same with highlighting a worst because most are terrible recently. Ruiz wasn't great, I always felt the ball was too heavy for him. Quite often it flew in at waste height and didn't beat the first man. Having said that I've noticed not clearing the front post is very common in our sport nowadays so maybe it's what they are coached to do.

Best off the top of my head was probably Duff or Davies. But I don't remember a corner specialist in my lifetime.

My memory could well be faulty but I seem to remember Les Barrett scoring directly from corners more than once

It certainly wouldn't have been me.
I think it is the same as penalties and free kicks and concentration goes a long way. If you can hit a ball without thinking too much about it then fine However if you start thinking I fluffed the last one and think about getting it in there then you are lost. Even the guys that hit a bad corner sometimes hit a good one but nobody remembers those especially if there is a goal score just after

Currently I couldn't even say apart from it seems totally pointless when Ross takes them for him not to be in the box. Rooney was the same at United. Why remove a goal threat with someone who just takes OK corners? Bugs the hell out of me. Glad to see that has changed. I have a feeling Slav will have Hyndman as a starter and corner taker once team has settled.

LOVED Hayward. One of those under the radar solid players that rarely get acknowledged in Fulham history. In fact after him Goldbaek could take a corner too.

The best and worst corner taker prize should go to Duncan Jupp.  From my recollection, he took one corner in front of the Hammersmith End and it bobbled poorly along the ground towards the defender at the near post (hence the worst corner taken).  It then hit the guy at the near post and went straight in.  He therefore has a goals to corners percentage of 100% (hence the best corner taker ever).

Bryan Ruiz was actually the worst consistent corner taker, as he rarely got past the first man and never varied his corners.  The best corner taker probably coincided with either Roger Brown playing or Kit Symons in the middle, we had a goal scoring threat.
