Sky sporting that McCormack is close to agreeing a contract extension.
How has he gone from handing in a transfer request to signing a new contract? He's clearly staying for the money especially after only extending his deal in the summer.
Signing of the season if we keep him.

Did he really put in a transfer request ?
Don't think we can afford to be without him for the rest of this season but happy for him to go in the summer of he's so unhappy with us! The longer the contract he's on, the more we can cash in on him.
Seems like good business if true.
Analytics already paying off!! Woohoo!! Money Football Manager Ball!!!! Who needs scouts? We have geeks w algorithms!! :005:
Statistics rule ok
Maybe he never actually handed in a transfer request? If he did a contract extension shows he is at least committed for the short term.
Sign him up and club only gets more money for him when he leaves
McCormack is already on a contract until 2019 when he will be 33 years old. Why would the club be offering him an extension now?
More tosh, I suspect.
I guess anything is possible but, it's difficult to see him handing in a transfer request, having it denied, and then opening discussion on an extension w a raise all in the space of a week.

The rumour is that the new contract would be more lucrative without necessarily being any longer.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me, even if he has put in a transfer request.
But of course both are just rumours at the moment.

How does this work under FFP rules?
Personally seen this so many times over the years in the company I work for.
Best performing sales person threatens to leave
Persuaded to stay and 'rewarded' with increased salary and bonus package
Best performing sales person continues to perform well
Best performing sales person plays same trick again a year later or just leaves
The pay rise Ross is reportedly getting = cost of keeping us in the Championship
Isn't this what Wayne Rooney did a couple of years ago?
Maybe Ross actually likes the club but was offered more money else where, so now club offers to match the offer he's ok

A couple of weeks ago when the Boro rumours were about,
someone on Talksport said that he was happy at Fulham.

Pretty sure it works under FFP because we are now working under the 10 million salary cap instead of the 6....under which we failed to comply and are now being punished for. Plus, like Statto states, embargo only impacts registration of new players.
Sensible response by FFC.
Not only do we retain our best player but the player also benefits so hopefully no sulking - and my only major criticism with Mac is he is a sulker when things are not going his way.
But even more so it is a visible show of support for SJ - he publicly declared he didn't want a player to leave and the club have backed him.
Perhap's he's scared of being booed for wanting a transfer.

:plus one:
Rhodes transfer to Boro has collapsed so that might put a spanner in the works

To be honest, even IF he did hand in a transfer request (none of us actually know), you cant blame him. Probably sold Premier League football within 2 seasons etc and hes now playing for a team in danger of a relegation battle.
Danny Murphy and Jim White on Talksport now are
saying Ross deal could be revived and still end up
at Boro...Hope they don't know something we don't.

Maybe, but if true our management is even worse than I already think they are! A player under contract for another 3 years + with ambitions to play at a higher level which he was stupid enough to think he would get with us and then rightly says if I can't see a future with you wants to move on, well the answer is simple, move on and good luck to you, I would do the same! If FFC have offered him better terms to stay, why???????????????? He is under contract until 2019, come on Rigg etc., you are supposed to know how to run a business!!! If not then please you can move on, won't be missed as much as Ross!!
God, I hope this is true. We're such a leaky boat, we'd be in last place but for his (and Dembele's) goals.
Yeah they have done their bit, got us up to 19th place, from them we couldn't ask for any more!!! Will it continue though, I have my doubts, 2 disgruntled players wishing to leave will not perform to their best, it's human nature!
