...next up at Craven Cottage we entertain Portsmouth FC, a club renowned for its large and very vocal away following. Suffice to say the club are going through probably the most turbulent time in their history. What with a queue of very dubious chairmen who don't appear to have a chamber pot with which to carry out their ablutions (obviously very thoroughly vetted by the premiership for their suitability - or promises of foreign holidays and vestal virgins) and getting close to qpha-ha for management positions, with players not getting paid and being sold without the prior knowledge of the manager - it is no surprise that the average Pompey fan has had it up to there!
Taking this into consideration, and adding the fact that being a night match everyone will have to cope with the delights of the London rush-hour (why do they call it that when the 180 minute crawl would be more appropriate?) and the club charging this as a band 'B' game (£35) I see a low turn-out.
My guess: 17, 679
The Prize: Fat Freddy's Curry and Lager Diet book...

Portsmouth will be unable to scrape together the deposit for a team bus, and will therefore forfeit the game.
So I say a big fat 0

Where's my bumper ticker for the last go round?
the question is: will the pompey fans show up in London but refuse to come into the park to watch them play? They've been doing this at home now and again.
So, if they boycott, I'm saying

If they come in and watch, I'm saying [my usual]

21972 . I'm hoping I win Fredster's curry'n'beer hip and thigh diet book.
20110 and two poor arabs
...well done FC (aka) Silver Fox, you win with 21,972 against the actual gate of 21,934.
There is a certain delicious irony as you are such an epicurian, that you should win Fat Freddy's (signed) Curry and Lager diet book - Fred has also offered to take you for an all expenses paid Northolt "ruby with 10 pints of 'wife beater'" extravaganza and a stay at one of Her Britannic Majesty's hotels overnight...
If you ask me, getting 21k out on a rainy Wednesday night to watch a devastated visiting team led by an Israeli zombie is pretty good work for FFC! Well done all those hearty souls who weathered the storm!
................but where is my bumper sticker from the Villa match?
I must say that watching the game on telly the crowd did not look to be more than 15,000. Some parts of the ground were emptier than a leper's wife swapping party.
Wow, cheers Fredster. I might take you up on the Northolt ruby offer. In the meantime, as a prize, can you post on here, the recipe for the best dish you have ever cooked or the meal that has given you the most pleasure?
Yankee Jim, I thought Chez won the Villa competition? I'll have to check that again. If I made a mistake, I'll correct it immediately. A FoF bumper sticker is already trundling around Worcester Park on the back of Chez' car but I'm sure I could dig out another one.
Yep, Chez was the closest and won that competition...

To give you another chance, I'll put another FoF bumper sticker up for grabs for the next home game competition.
