BURKE SURPRISED BY FOREST
Oliver Burke has revealed he was surprised to learn Nottingham Forest had agreed to sell him to RB Leipzig, but he has revealed he understands his boyhood club?s decision.
?When I found out Forest had agreed a deal to sell me it was a surprise,? the 19-year-old said in an emotional statement.
?But I understand the transfer fee received should help stabilise the club and allow Forest to sign two or three quality players who can help the team push for promotion.?
RB Leipzig will strive to develop the outstanding potential of Oliver Burke, following his ?13m switch from Nottingham Forest.
Speaking after the deal was finalised, Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick said: "Oliver Burke is an outstanding talent, only 19-years-old, with an awful lot of potential that has not been completed.
?He fits with the high pace and way of playing very well and will make his next sporting development step with us.
?This transfer is important, especially because several top clubs were interested."
Shame they had to sell him to the most awful club in the country

They still had ?13m to spend on a young British striker.
Leipzig's claim to fame: It still has a branch of Woolworth's.

I didn't mean they were a bad team, I meant they were a bad club, designed purely to advertise Red Bull
Well, he could have said no!
I thought the above was a joke at first, buts it true thought he was off to a Premier League club
Cant believe he gone there.
Leipzig ist nicht so schlimm. Not so bad, Ryanair fly there, OK it's awful.
I think BMW's are built in Leipzig
Bizarre move for a young lad like that. Would have put my house on a PL move.
On the contrary to the above, Leipzig is supposed to be an incredible place. Great art and music scene, up and coming place without becoming territorialised like Berlin.
Great architecture.
Agree about Red Bull, they are doing this with electronic music and have been very successful. I find it unfortunate though, the commercialisation of independent scenes...
They sound an ambitious club though.
Just had a thought... now that Burke has gone, apparently many forest players are becoming unsettled with the owner and are handing in transfer requests, Lansbury appeared particularly displeased on twitter. We could take advantage of this, and perhaps make a move for Assombalonga. Unlikely, but it's possible.
Does NFR mean Nottingham Forest related in this case?
Won't lie, a bit worried about young Scots moving abroad since Ryan Gauld disappeared into a Portugese void, never to be seen again. Really enjoyed watching Burke play. Caught him on TV a couple of times and he looked very direct, confident and a real threat for such a young man. Odd choice of team in the Bundesliga, but a cracking, well-disciplined league. Hopefully it works out for him.
As a side note, Hoffenheim held up a banner at a recent match that loosely translated to 'We want our Throne back as the most hated German club'. Terrific.
Forest confirmed earlier that he would not be sold. Everyone has their price as we know and they would be daft to turn this down
