Title: Aluko
Post by: F.luke on December 01, 2016, 09:09:04 PM
Anyone else fed up with this guy, flatters to deceive, plays in fits and starts, often no end product and can't hit a barn door.

He,s talented but There's a reason he has never really made it. Does anyone else agree or am I wrong ?

His finishing is bloody awful, but he's becoming one of our most important players. Nobody else can run past the opposition like he can, his ability to take the ball to turn and run is something refreshing, he creates opportunities and he creates chances. He's a problem for the opposition.

Often no end product? He's been involved in more goals than any other Fulham player (including Tom Cairney), bare in mind he doesn't take set pieces either.

He's made a difference to the way we attack and I think we're a better team with him in it than out of it. His work rate is also fantastic.

Needs to play in the wider role with Cairney the no10.  A good very quick hard working team player but can't shoot to save his life.  His pace is a massive benefit to the team.

I remember people saying the same about Dembele senior. This guy is a different player but dribbling and work rate are similar.

Sums it up.

Has been excellent for us all season . A live wire who is good on the ball ,creates opportunities for others , has pace and wins the ball back more than most other players in our side. Possibly our best player this season and the only player we have had that has won a player of the month award since god knows when. Finishing is not his strong point ,but if it was he would be in a top side in the premier league . I am VERY  happy we have got him and he was an absolute steal on free....

While no one on here will argue that his finishing is far from perfect he has made a big difference to how we play. He has pace, can take on players and can play some snappy inter passing, often in the opposition penalty area. Plus the fact that he doesn't stop running.

A vey good signing and the opposition must fear him as he is always marked closely.

Yes Aluko has disappointed because of his lack of goals but he can attack a defence and there is always a feeling that he can be our match winner.
I would suggest that he is the best of our fourteen summer buys, none of the others have shown regular form and have not looked like players ready for a top six club.

No - he contributes a lot to our play. If he did all that and was a lethal finisher, he would be playing much higher than us. He is just a championship level player, good but flawed.

Honestly, this is meant in the best way and I am certainly not trying to wind you up.

But after the amount of chances Aluko had made this season and the amount of assists he's already racked up, and then after his magnificent game today, surely that puts this thread to bed. In fact taking this thread down or deleting it is probably the right thing to do at this point.

I defended Aluko's low ratings on the Brighton ratings thread. F Luke disagreed, which is fine, but I think this thread proves what an asset Aluko has been for us this season.

If he hasn't been our best player then he's second or third and I'm not sure how there's an argument against that. We have two very dangerous, direct attacking players now which has added so much more to our game.

This guy is a genuine asset to the team.  Even if he's not a great goal scorer, he is a genuine creator of opportunities simply because he opens up defences.  Anyway, his goal today was sheer class.

our fans are unbelievable. Aluko wins player of the month are people are in to instantly criticise because he hasn't scored 20 odd goals. There's more to football than goals and his direct approach and pace are certainly contributing massively to the side.
