Title: cyriac
Post by: nose on March 15, 2017, 10:25:34 AM
i do like the look of him. he has been a real live wire every time he comes on
brilliant goal, a real center forward goal, getting to the near post early for the cross.
Loads of effort and he has pace. Not sure why he has not yet merited a start.
He should surely have been the first change and IMO it was sess that needed to be withdrawn, he struggled all night.

Seconded. Gutted for him that his amazing intervention last night didn't get the final reward that he deserved.

So great to see a player so visibly doing his all to make an impression. Like him a lot.

Like this squad a lot!

Cyriac won more in the air than snide martin ( not sure why snide was on the pitch)..... Cyriac show's he wants to be part of the team & his goal was perfect......Cairney to me looked off tonight - Cyriac should of come on a lot earlier

Agreed, think he looks quick and strong.
Dont understand why he's only getting 10 minutes. Would like to see him start one and instead of Martin.

Somehow Jokanovic needs to refresh this team by Saturday. if we simply continue where we left off last night we are facing a thrashing.
Playing Cyriac up top from the start may well help.

with reason form, you could argue that last night was just an off day and normal service will hopefully ressume

Thought his goal was really well taken, he absolutely deserves a start too.

I did think it was poor defending from their centre back allowing him to run off him like that and get across in front of him*

* yes I am having a dig at criticism of our defence whenever we concede a goal

I think he made the subs the way he did to hold the ball up (although Martin didn't do that in the end), Cryriac is not a back to goal player, he will run wide keep the ball there and use it, or run on to things through the middle and finish as he did last night.

Wolves on Saturday could be a good game to start him as from memory Wolves are quite slow at centre back

im assuming Stearman cant play also which may disrupt their back line?

His finish was absolutely class as was the header Vs Leeds.

+1

He is a class act and just needs more game time.

Out of interest rather than contradiction, curious how this is poor defending? Judging defensive errors is not something I'm knowledgeable on.

If he grabs on to him it's a free kick/pen, and there's nothing he can do to outpace him

I think he looks a very good player, Always makes an impact when he comes on. His finish was great and his jumping ability is the best i've seen in a striker for a while. Not tall but wins so many headers

I think what you said was the manager's intention but it back fired. We do not play the long ball to a front man to hold it up so why change from what was serving us well. better to play cyriac, give him the ball and then let him run at them and keep them occupied. as it was from the moment martin came on we started to lose  possesion over and over.
